15 of the best oversized mirrors

10 of the best oversized mirrors

I’m currently planning a long-overdue refurbishment of the bathroom in our holiday home in France (see my bathroom board) and lately, I have been obsessing with oversized round mirrors.

I was very happy with the minimalist look of the bathroom cabinet we got for our tadelakt bathroom in our London home, which would you believe, is from Ikea.

I was even thinking of using it again for the French project as it ticked several of my boxes.

Its design is simple, minimalist, yet spacious enough to host all our toiletries. The price is good too although this slimline cabinet (similar in look) from a bathroom specialist, comes in 3 finishes, an option that can be useful for some.

Then Pinterest, happened…

“An oversized mirror is a simple item that will make any of your rooms at home, look bigger, chic and stylish”

From bathrooms, to bedrooms, hallways and even lounges, any room with an oversized mirror like this metal frame oversized mirror (1), simply looked really stylish and striking.

A design feature also spotted in the Casa Cook hotel in Rhodes, whose natural interior styling is right up my street and the kind of natural beach style I would love to achieve in our lounge (see our dining renovations part 1).

Wouldn’t you love this look below in your home!?

“It’s one thing to find pictures of oversized mirrors on Pinterest, it’s another to actually source them and find shops that sell them…”

As most people in the city have small interiors, oversized mirrors are not exactly a mass-market product which means that it can be tricky to find a nice one but fear not! I’ve have done all the leg work for you and rounded up the most beautiful, striking mirrors I could find online.

The round mirrors I included, are at least 60 cm diameter and prices, range from £122 to £499 top and that is for a very large mirror (132 cm dia.), with hanging hardware included.15 of the best oversized mirrors15 of the best oversized mirrorssource: Fantastic Frank

Minimalist round mirrors:

When it comes to make a striking visual effect in a modern, minimalist home, the larger and simpler mirrors are the best.

This Patsy round mirror from Habitat, is a decent oversized size at 82 cm wide and comes with a stylish gold frame (2).
Slightly smaller (70 cm dia.) and therefore more affordable (£155), the Circum round mirror (3) from Amara has a black wooden frame and creates a sleek bold statement in any room.

Sleek and simple, this large mirror by House Doctor (80 cm wide) (4) and this frameless mirror (91 cm wide) (5) from West Elm are the most minimalist. Both will complement a range of interior styles.

To achieve the hygge look, this oak round mirror (6) from John Lewis is a great option and with its black frame, this 92 cm wide Umbra round mirror (7) is perfect for modern, Scandinavian interiors and good value too (see below).15 of the best oversized mirrorssource: Homeyohmy

“Big is beautiful..a large mirror can also become a piece of furniture that will increase the size of your space”

The largest mirror I could find (132 cm dia.) is this gorgeous metal frame oversized round mirror (8) from West Elm which comes in three beautiful finishes: antique brass, antique bronze and rose gold.
I first spotted it on Instagram and it does indeed, look striking and beautiful. It is currently my favourite choice for our bathroom, providing I have enough wall space.

Left on the floor in a living room, a very large mirror combines style and function and becomes a striking piece of furniture, which will also double the size of the space with its reflection. 15 of the best oversized mirrorssource: François Champsaur

Large mirrors with characters:

Since not everyone aims for a minimalist look, I have also included some beautiful oversized mirrors which would fit different interior styles.

For an industrial home, the geometric Ariette mirror (9) from Anthropologie, (featured below)adds un je ne sais quoi to a wall and is also available in a bronze finish here.15 of the best oversized mirrorsWhile this Pirouette mirror (10) also from Anthro, will suit a more traditional, baroque home and this Juncture mirror (11) with its post-modern design is available under £200.

In Ireland, Siobhán Sacker, Founder of  Gilded Hound has a great selection of mirrors but she can also make customs orders. 100% made in Ireland, all her beautiful brass and copper mirrors (12)  are hand crafted in their Dublin studio and they source raw components from four different Irish manufacturers.15 of the best oversized mirrorssource: Giera Design

Coloured round mirrors:

Another way to add a bold element to your home is to display a tinted mirror and these days, they are plenty of options in sizes and colours.

Hung on a dark pink wall, this rose gold mirror (13) adds a bold element to a room at £155. For smaller spaces, a small rose gold mirror (14), is available at only £72.

I also find this aged round mirror (15) from Notre Monde very interesting looking and if you are in the market for a coffee table, they have a fantastic collection of tables here.15 of the best oversized mirrorsThis ends my round up of oversized mirrors, which I hope you find useful for future reference.

I would be hugely grateful if you could leave a comment below to let me know whether this kind of articles/round up is valuable to you.

Ya, definitely, it is very valuable to me. I always use standard size mirrors in different designs but never really thought about how these oversized mirrors will look in my home. Now, I know where to put them exactly. Thanks!
