People from the Sea + playlist

I took this photo of Florian in August.
Just looking at it, I can feel the heat of the sun on my skin and so many happy memories of what was a good Summer in the end…People from the Sea (C) Karine Candice Köng | All Rights ReservedI think I’ve mentionned this before but channelling my energy into taking pictures for People from the Sea and focusing on capturing happy emotions has been a game changer for me.

Next month will be one year since dad left us and somehow, I’m “proud” of how we (as a family) managed to deal with the loss and made room for happiness, focusing on things that make us happy inside.

It’s not always easy but we manage and if there is one thing that dad’s death taught me is that we only have one life and we ought to live it to the full and in the most positive way we can.
I certainly want my life to be as best as it can and I don’t want to lie on my death bed thinking about things I didn’t do or shouldn’t have done. I’m moving forward…and if you’ve experienced loss recently, I hope these words will strike a chord with you.
We all have a choice, we can focus on what we don’t have, what we lost or focus on what we have, what the future holds, what we can make and trust me… on that side, life is a much better place!

Photographing the Ocean, Summer, beautiful, happy people and creating this uplifting, feel-good feed which is growing nicely, makes me really happy.

Editing is more challenging :-)

Until last week, I only edited my photos in iPhoto which is very limiting but now I’m teaching myself to edit them in Photoshop and it’s far from being my favourite part especially when I’m stuck for a day 1/2 with a manip’ and there is no-one around me that can help me.

One thing that makes the whole process a lot more enjoyable, is listening to upbeat, uplifting music so here are 15 of my favourite tracks which I compile for you on Deezer (I use them for running too).
