Our London family home in Milk magazine

Our London family home in Milk Decoration

Seeing our London family home featured in Milk magazine was a major highlight this year. I have been a fan of Milk magazine for years now so I can’t tell you how happy I am to see our London family home in their magazine which is now available in English and French. Creating a feature wall with the Scrapwood wallpaper

Creating a feature wall with the Scrapwood wallpaper

I have wallpapered twice in my whole life. Mostly, because the task has always seemed more daunting and difficult than it really was and I tend to paint walls in my home in white or Farrow & Ball grey paint anyway. However, since we added the Scrapwood wallpaper collection by Dutch designer Piet Hein Eek to the shop, I have been dying to do a feature wall with either the PHE-11 design or the PHE-2 in our holiday home in France. So last month, after spending a week on the boat doing nothing, I started a bit of DIY the following week. I had wallpapered a wall before this one once but it was a completely different experience. Few things impressed me with the Scrapwood wallpaper… First, the quality of the wallpaper, which was thicker and easier to handle. Second, we didn’t need a pasting table as we only had to apply the paste to the wall and then position the paper properly, which turned out to be a lot easier than the traditional way of applying …

Life with Mila…and La Princesse au Petit Pois

When we were on holiday in France this Summer, I bought a gorgeous, vintage smock dress for Mila. It reminded me the kind of dresses we were wearing when Elodie and I were little.London, 7am:Me: “What do you want to wear this morning?” (knowing the answer)Mila: “A dress!”Me: “Well, why don’t you wear the beautiful dress we got in France?”She puts it on and look herself in the mirror…Mila: “Don’t you think I look like an orphan?”Ok not quite the look I was aiming for but she went ahead with it. This gives me the chance to introduce you La Princesse Au Petit Pois, a beautiful, poetic collection of clothes for children designed by the talended Alexandra Darcissac. All the clothes are made in France and are simply beautiful. My favourite pieces are this gorgeous Notre Coeur dress and the Ilo blouse and the bloomers are just adorable! No chance to look like an orphan with this magnificent collection…in fact, it’s quite the opposite… http://feeds.feedburner.com/blogspot/UxVs

One gorgeous new print and new hair…

It’s not very often that I post images of myself (like never!) but yesterday we had a photoshoot + interview in my home for The Scotland on Sunday magazine (which will get featured this weekend) so I went to the ‘haircoiffeur’ (hairdresser) as Mila says.Once the photoshoot was over with Debra Hurford Brown, the photographer sent by the newspaper, Francois and I carrying on styling the new BODIE and FOU collection which includes this gorgeous SMALL TALK print I took home and he also took a few portraits of me while the blow-dry was still looking good… The print is by One Must Dash, a creative label set up by two talented Swedish girls: Anki Josefsson & Anneli Sandström who made a gorgeous collection of prints exclusively available for BODIE and FOU. I hope you’ll love this one as much as I do.Ce n’est pas très souvent que je partage des photos de moi (genre jamais!) mais hier, il y a eu un photoshoot chez moi + interview pour The Scotland on Sunday magazine (l’article va paraitre ce weekend) et donc je suis allée …

Styling from the weekend: Paulistano chair love

I have the chance to have two of these beauties at home, the Whisky Paulistano with the stainless-steel frame and the White Paulistano with the black iron frame. It’s by far my favourite piece of design. I can’t tell you how much I love the lines of this chair…. The frame is made of a continuous 17-foot single bended steel bar (shaped under 200 lbs of hydraulic pressure over 24 hours) and then welded in a single spot and it looks simple and beautiful and for something that was designed in 1957 for The Athletic Club of São Paulo, it has not aged at all.Last week, Francois and I shot several Paulistano chairs including this shot below which was taken in  a beautiful family home in West London but could have well be taken in a home in Paris… don’t you think it has a gorgeous French vibe? The new UP poster by Fine Little Day on the wall is available from here and the Milk lamp from here. {White Styling} from the weekend….

On Sunday, our photographer Francois and I shot the BODIE and FOU White Christmas collection* in a gorgeous family home in West London (big thanks to Greg & Amanda for their wonderful welcome).Steve went for a bike ride with his friend so I took Mila with us on the shoot and well, now that she is 7, she no longer can be bothered to model for me so all I get now is her feet…but here is a sneak-peek of what’s coming…I’m so in love with everything…The tealight holders are made of bone china with a matte finish and come with a STAR or HEART design. They are gorgeous and very stylish (£13 each).I use stars a lot to decorate our home so I’m a huge fan of this beautiful decorative star (only £15) and this little polar bear family (£28 for a set of Papa Bear and Baby bear) is just a-do-rable and will look perfect in a nursery or kids bedroom. The paper Christmas decorations come in set of 3 and you get a …
