Life with Mila: How do you keep your youth according to a 10 years old

Happy Halloween | Kids

Mila and I are flying back to London this afternoon. I would have loved to stay longer with her but my beloved sister is arriving in London tonight and Mila is really looking forward to celebrating Halloween with her friends. Life goes on, doesn’t it ?!Francois and I took these photos last September. It’s crazy how Mila looks so grown-up on these with my shoes.Like the polar bears, we’ve been overwhelmed by orders for this tutu but we are trying to get more before Xmas. Nothing is guaranteed. On a positive note, we will soon add a new tutu in charcoal grey which is really beautifulHere are 5 Halloween treats for your home#halloween1: Bat print#halloween2: Batgirl print#halloween3: Le Chat print#halloween4: Wrought iron wallpaper#halloween5: White cast iron wallpaper Mila et moi rentrons sur Londres cet après-midi. A shop turned into a home | house tour

Wow…temperatures have seriously dropped since yesterday. It even snowed near Aix-en-Provence chez Lau. With the recent events, I feel like hibernating under my duvet, reading the Nordic eco Ideas from Paumes and my mum’s decoration magazines until it’s warm and nice again. This morning, we’re off to the food market and then we will spend some time with my mamie. To keep myself busy, I have been catching up on my favorite blogs and found this shop that was turned into a lovely home in Sweden (Gotland). There is so many details I love about this place…the metro-style tiles in the kitchen, the large, welcoming diner table, the old butcher unit, the kitchen units and the old floorboards – lots of details that feel warm & cosy. What do you think? Move in or move on? {Thank you for leaving a comment. Reading them always makes me very happy} via Wow, les températures ont sérieusement baissées depuis hier. Il neige même chez Lau près d’Aix-en-Provence. Je n’ai qu’une envie c’est d’hiberner sous ma couette, et lire Nordic eco Ideas des Editions Paumes et les magazines de déco de …

Life with Mila | The Tooth Fairy

Sadly Mila and I had to rush to France yesterday to see my 95 years old mamie (she is the hot chick on the left hand side and my mum is the one in the middle sporting the bathing suit with spots – I love this photo). It’s a sad time but I wanted to be there to tell her what a wonderful grandmother she had been to me before it was too late.

Pigmée | handmade dolls

I first wrote how special the Pigmée collection was to me almost a year ago here and while it was too late for us to include it in our last Xmas catalogue, this year you will find Pigmée a bit everywhere…lounging on our stonewashed linen collection…in Mila’s bedroom here and there as we have two at home now…in the white Christmas moodboard from our Autumn/Winter catalogue and below.Pigmée is a beautiful, handmade collection designed by Florence Bories, a young designer who just gave birth to a little boy named Oscar so things are getting a bit busy for Florence right now and the delivery we received will be the last one we received before Christmas so don’t wait for too long if you wish to offer one of these beautiful dolls as a gift. The good news is that we managed to get more of this beautiful garland, the bad news is that Florence is stopping them to introduce new designs and keep her collection fresh – which is a shame because I really like how beautiful it looks in Mila’s bedroom but …

MERCI | Brookly Tins wallpapers

Following the huge success of the Scrapwood wallpaper collection by Piet Hein Eek, NLXL have teamed up with Parisian concept store MERCI (my favourite concept store in Paris) to design the striking and very unique Brooklyn Tins wallpaper collection  Easier to apply than most wallpapers – and I can vouch for that having used the Scrapwood wallpaper in my home in France – the Brooklyn Tins wallpaper collection by MERCI is the perfect solution to create a striking feature wall at home, or re-invent a commercial space while adding a chic industrial feel to any space.

French toasts | recipe

challah french toast Baked entirely in the oven, this is a cinch to prepare for a crowd—and no slaving over a hot stove cooking two pieces at a time. SERVES 10 2 tbsp. butter, at room temperature1 dozen large eggs3/4 cup milk1 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon1/8 tsp. salt2 tbsp. dark-brown sugar2 loaves challah bread, each cut into ten 1″-thick slices Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Generously butter two nonstick sheet pans. In a bowl, beat eggs, milk, cinnamon, salt and sugar. One by one, dip 10 bread slices in egg mixture, turn to coat well on both sides and place on a sheet pan in a single layer. Bake for 9 minutes, then turn slices and bake for 8 more minutes, or until both sides are golden brown. Repeat with remaining 10 slices in the other pan. Serve with maple syrup. Tote the French toast to the table on the sheet pan to minimize dirty dishes. Via here

Mila’s little bedroom revamp…

A few weeks, Mila asked for more pink in her bedroom so I decided to add soft touches to her room by painting her old white desk and chair.
