Latest styling work | Birthday girl | Bikram Yoga

I’m really pleased to say that our SS/2013 catalogue is almost finished. The files are going to the printer  on Tuesday evening and if you have requested a copy or receive the previous issues in the past, our gorgeous catalogue will land on your doorstep on 19/04/2014. To be honest, I think this is our best catalogue EVER!  I don’t say this lightly because when it comes to BODIE and FOU, I’m a perfectionist but out of all the catalogues we’ve produced including our first one which received an ECMOD Award, this is my favourite! There isn’t a spread (double-page) I don’t like and I’m hugely proud of what our team has achieved with that baby! The photos above are from the //NATURALS collection I styled and photographed with  Francois. I don’t know if you remember but after losing my two beloved grand-mothers in a very short time at the end of last year, this year, the only thing I wanted was for life in general to be more gentle and kind to everyone and I really …

4 styles to create an inviting, family-friendly dining room

Our friends Elena and Graham moved into a new home which needs some work but has massive potential and just seeing it, made Steve and I craving for a new home decorating project. They have already painted the walls of their dining room in white and will sand the original floorboards to varnish them.As they are planning to get new dining chairs, here are a few examples to create an inviting, family-friendly and welcoming dining room. Personally I love them all which won’t make the decision process any easier but hey…Which one do you prefer? // Scandi warmthAs they already own a white Arne Jacobsen table, wooden dining chairs like these below would look beautiful in their room that is filled with natural light and will soften the room, adding textures and a natural vibe. // On a budgetI love finding styling ideas on a budget because it requires creativity, ingenuity and I’m a firm believer that style is not about money. If I had a TV show, I would love to help people to create beautiful homes on …

4 Benefits to Adding More Natural Light to your Home

This winter is SOOOO long here in the UK. I’m day-dreaming of the Summer sun on my skin, looking tanned, healthy, happy…anyone else feeling the same? I read this article on the BBC the other day that highlighted how being exposed to sunlight daily is good for our health, both mentally and physically. I often think that adding natural light to your home is a key design concept that many people overlook. Light can be the difference between making a room look airy and elegant over one that looks unwelcoming and even dingy.  In our kitchen, half of the ceiling has been replaced by roof lights and I can’t tell you how much of a positive difference it makes to this room where we spend a lot of time as a family. While I wouldn’t even consider having a bedroom or living room that didn’t let in as much sunlight as possible, I find that natural light adds a dimension to the design of your home that cannot be created with artificial lighting alone. So, as I’m on a “healthier home/healthier mind/healthier body …

3 inspiring bedrooms styled in blue | Get the look

This morning, Francois & I are shooting the last photos required to complete the bedroom spread of the BODIE and FOU SS/2013 catalogue. As we will be styling our new blue stonewashed duvet cover, I thought, today was perfect to share with you these beautiful & inspiring bedrooms and luxury beds styled with blue.  Blue is definitively my second favourite colour after white. I don’t know if it’s a childhood spent on the Atlantic coast but for me, nothing better than blue screams HOLIDAYS.  What colour screams HOLIDAYS to you?? I hope you’ll forgive me for including one of my styling jobs (pic 2) in our home in France but I love this image because Mila was only 5 on the photo and if you had seen what the room was like when we got the house, you would be very proud of me :-) {Get the look from my holiday home} – Mirror on the wall, wall lights and ceiling light are vintage pieces found in second-hand shops but you can find similar items on E-bay – the blue …
