Let me introduce you to Doryan

Let me introduce you to Doryan…He is one of my Marketing Assistant along my beloved Sophie (more about Soph’ later) but he is also François‘ best friend so I have known him for a while and he stays with us a few months until he found a flat in London. He is as comfortable in front of the camera as a potato on a bicycle but he is incredibly good at skating and managed to get the council in the town we grew up (Cognac) to create a skating ramp and allocate a space for skaters to practice during Winter time.He is also amazing with kids and he is teaching Mila how to skate (so if you want one a great instructor for the kids he is your guy!)I love this picture of him (below) taken by François because somehow it makes me think about Dancer, Choregrapher Mikhail BaryshnikovLook how cute he looked when he was a kid!Anyway, he is 30 something, has a great heart, he is smart but he is single (and when he’s gonna read …

30-day Bikram Yoga challenge | DAY 23

Via What are you up to this weekend? Steve is off to for the day so Mila and I are going to have some mother & daughter quality time in our garden to make the most of this glorious weather. She just had a lot of fun cleaning up the garden with the hose and soaking Lucas (he wasn’t very impressed!) while I took our white ball chairs outside so now everything is ready for us.This afternoon, I’m taking her to her first Bikram Yoga class for kids and then we will cook some honey & lemon marinated chicken. If you live in West London, try this pub The Oak W12 where we had our family meal last night (more pics on Instagram). They have a couple of our Clip-On Lights behind the bar, our New-York Black & Copper wall light in the back room  and a couple of our New-York table lamps. I’m in love with the interior design!Have a great one! Bises{RECIPE}Ingredients:Juice and zest of 1 large lemon (3 tablespoons juice), 3 tablespoons honey, 2 teaspoons finely chopped garlic, 1 1/2teaspoons ground cumin, 1 teaspoon dried …

Men with a beard

Do you like men with a beard?I have to admit, I didn’t and it was more because of the rash I was getting from kissing a bearded man than from an aesthetic point of view. However, these past few years, Steve (pictured here with our linen scarf & Jules plumber bag) has been growing a bear each time we were on holidays so I grew to love it.While his hairy face may make up for the lack of hair on his skull, my kiwi is ageing beautifully like a good French wine and he is looking sexier by the minute and what was a look reserved solely to our holidays, has now become his new style. He recently started a new job with a Danish company and has adopted the Viking look from day one and honestly, each time he comes home looking tanned (from our last family weekend in Wales) and dashing in one of his Italian suits, I can’t help thinking how gorgeous he looks.A few bearded links for you….Alain Delon in La Piscine22 reasons bearded men are …

30-day Bikram Yoga challenge | DAY 22

How are you??I’m so ready for the Summer! I went to my Bikram yoga class at lunch time today and gosh it was hot! As I was staring at myself in the large mirror looking red, sweaty and reasonably unattractive but toner and fitter, I realised how much I’ve enjoyed this challenge.Yes ok some days have been tougher than others but overall, the benefits have not only been positive from a physical point of view but also mentally. I’m more focused and relaxed. I feel I handle stress at work in a much better way and I had my share over the years (read my interview for Kelly Hoppen here) and most of it I feel full of energy.I know some of you have found my updates here on the blog or Instagram very inspiring and I’m glad because if you can take on this challenge or any other fitness challenge for that matter (my friend Hannah from Dreamwalls is doing amazingly well running), it can only be for the best.So if you need more inspiration, here are a few …

Family weekend away in… Wales

This is the photo of a sun kissed, salty, sweaty, tired child after a great weekend in Wales….On Friday, we decided to escape London to hit the beach & go surfing. I looked online for the best beaches within 3 hours of London and found the top 10 UK surf spots. As surfing beginners, we decided to go to the Gower Peninsula in Wales which is about 4 hours away from London and found a nice self-catering cottage* rented out by Gower Holidays Solutions – 5 minutes drive from Rhossili beach, allegedly the best beach in Britain and the 3rd best beach in Europe! While the weather was perfect to go camping, we didn’t do this time because we wanted to take Lucas with us and most campsites were not dog-friendly but if you want to do it, here is a link to 5 of the best campsites in Gower. Having stayed on the beach right next to Hillend campsite, I think it’s probably where we will go next time. The thing I love the most about the area (besides the amazing weather) was, …

30-day Bikram Yoga challenge | DAY 20

Via Do you think she is wearing silver shorts? I kind of like them, although I can’t really figure out if they are really silver or if it’s just the photo.  Anyway, I thought I would throw in an inspiring nice, toned body in case you need to re-focus on your bikini body goal because I realised last night that MY bikini holidays are actually around the corner and I better crack on with it. So, while you’re reading this (scheduled) post, I’ll be at my 6.30am Bikram yoga class. On my return, Mila and I will hit the road to join Steve in Wales & go surfing. I use the term ‘go surfing’ very loosely since I’ve only tried that once, a few weeks ago in North Devon but Steve was keen to do it again and went yesterday. I have to say, I loved it and if we can find a sport for the whole family to enjoy together even when the weather is not great, I say we are onto a winner! What …

30-day Bikram Yoga challenge | DAY 19 (challenging!)

(C) Hush Homewear I wish I could tell you that I was going strong with my 30-day Bikram Yoga challenge but it’s not happening….at least it wasn’t until last night but things are about to change. While the first two weeks I felt incredibly focused, I have been struggling to go back to it since I had a week off because of a gastroenteritis. Last night, I drove around for 15 min trying to find a parking space and during these 15 minutes, I came up with all sorts of justifications for not going. We’re good at that, aren’t we?! I can’t even blame my body or a lack of energy. No, it was purely a mental thing… I was in a “really can’t be bothered” kind of space to be polite but then I thought of Steve who would be disappointed because he actually makes time for me to do this and to look after Mila and then I thought how I would be feeling with myself…very disappointed, the kind of feeling that leaves you …
