A stunning home/office in Formentera

If you’ve been following our home renovations on Instagram (#bodieandfourenovations), you may have seen that we’ve added some large windows and a couple of very modern extensions to our home like Steve’s office and the loft conversion at the back of our home while preserving the beautiful Victorian features of the house.

I’ve always loved mixing vintage treasures with modern design to achieve an effortless style in all the homes I decorated, however, when it comes to architecture and art, I’m a Modernist by heart, which is why I fell in love with this beautiful home/office designed by Architect Marià Castelló Martinez, on the island of Formentera.
If you are looking for a large, minimalist table/desk, check out the Form table. Two of our customers, both Architects, use it as a desk. Personally I have my eyes on the new Slice table by Normann Copenhagen for Steve’s office + a Knot chair.
The white Panton chair by Vitra is available from John Lewis

This space may look a bit too minimalist for some of you but it’s the kind of space that I find very soothing and calming and when it comes to find inspiration and creativity, I’d rather be working in an all-white space looking at nature rather than a cluttered one, to be able to draw inspiration from what I feel inside.

Once our renovations are over, I will share a few tips with you to achieve a fairly minimalist & contemporary style in your home even when toys are taking over…

Adding textured accessories and furniture like these beautiful elm wooden stools (or these if you are on a budget), a simple yet practical basket are a great way to add warmth to a minimalist space.
Choosing trenched radiators (the ones that fit into the floor instead of the walls) are also a great way to keep your space uncluttered. We are having those fitted in our kitchen. For underfloor heating in our loft conversion, we used Warmup.

The iconic AA Butterfly chair, designed by Architects and Designers Jorge Ferrari-Hardoy, Antonio Bonet and Juan Kurchan after they finished working with Le Corbusier, is available from here.
I’m also loving this very tall, narrow mirror. Talking of mirrors, I have been looking for a built-in bathroom cabinet with mirror like this one, featured in this beautiful bathroom with concrete floor.
