5 things I want right now!

5 things I want right now!

After writing about J. Crew basics on Monday, I came to the conclusion that I really, really need a soft, cashmere jumper before Steve gets annoyed with me for wearing his black cashmere jumper all the time. 1/ While J. Crew’s boyfriend sweater looks fab and comes in all sorts of colours, I had my heart set on this V-neck cashmere jumper from Hush for months so Hush it is for me. Which one do you prefer? J. Crew’s or Hush’s ?

4 ways with J. Crew basics

Once upon a time (before motherhood), I was going to New-York every two years and one of my fav’ US shops to visit was J. CREW so last year, when we went as a family, Mila and I went on a shopping trip and got lots of gorgeous things for her including a pair of New Balance we couldn’t find in the UK. Now, J. CREW has 4 stores in London and a fantastic website that ships everywhere. If you’re not familiar with the brand and the fabulous Jenna Lyons, check out these four basics: 1. Hair envy + my fav’ Winter’s skin & hair products

While writing this Outfit perfection post on faux-fur last week, I came across Fearne Cotton’s haircut here. I love how fearless she is with her hair…Wearing red lipstick, I thought Fearne’s hairdo looked very sexy and similar to French actress Clemence Poesy’s haircut. Since then I have been pondering whether I should just go for the chop, go back to having a fringe or do both… They only thing that stops me is no longer be able to do…

5 things I want right now!

5 things I want right now!

Last year I bought 5 jumpsuits and most of them have been great investment, meaning I wore them weekly each Season (except maybe a black one from Mango which I’ll put on Ebay when I’m back in London). For me, a great investment is based on the cost per wear ratio. Meaning, the cost of the item Vs the number of times I will wear the item. This is how I justify to spend $$$$ on a pair of Dicker ankle boots by Isabel Marant, (which to be honest I wear day in day out during the Summer and have for the past 3 Summers)…and it’s why it’s also good to mix great designer pieces like this Winter coat by Marant, which you are likely to wear a few Winters and things from the high-street or more affordable online brands like Hush, ASOS, Boden or French Connection.

a feel-good home in soft hues of greys in Bristol

A feel-good family home in Bristol

Last time I wrote about my friends’ home in Bristol was in 2009 and Gabrielle and Peter had just moved in. At the time, it was already a gorgeous place with very pretty Georgian period features and the most beautiful cast iron stairs I had ever seen…Fast-forward five years and G has turned the space into a wonderful, feel-good family home with soft hues of greys, vintage found and stylish pieces and beautiful hues from Farrow & Ball. Read on… Gabrielle, who is an Interior Designer (and TV presenter for BBCTV), designed the kitchen cupboards and got them made by a joiner. They were then painted in Strong White by Farrow & Ball The table belonged to her her granny and she updated the tabletop with a stainless-steel sheet (which I thought was a great idea the first time I saw it) and the green paint is the original from the 1930s…

The faux-fur jacket | outfit perfection

A faux-fur jacket goes straight into my outfit perfection category. First, it’s now freezing cold in the UK and second, it’s super soft and it is one piece that makes you look the part straight away when you go out…and I saw some really nice ones this Season so let’s start my Monday’s round-up…
