black kitchen with Philippe Starck Masters chairs

Black dining chairs…

For our dining room, I’m looking at two chairs for now….The Knot chair (tried, tested & loved) which has been one of my top favourite chairs for a long time. I took the black one home recently to see how it would look in our new lounge and it looks fab. Second option is the Masters chair designed by Philippe Starck for Kartell. Starck designed the Masters chair to pay tribute to three iconic chairs: the “Series 7” by Arne Jacobsen, the “Tulip Armchair” by Eero Saarinen and the “Eiffel Chair” by Charles Eames. It’s very comfy and has a special finish on the chair, which makes it feel sensual and velvety to the touch but mostly I love the look of it. What do you think? SHOP THE LOOK Photography: 1. 5 things I want right now!

5 things I want right now!

This week, I have been totally obsessing about this watch. I thought initially it was a men’s watch but the case is 43 mm (which seems ok for women) + it’s called “Bradshaw” which I suspect can only be a reference to Carrie. Even if it had been for a watch for men, I was ok with it. I like wearing big watches. They make my wrist look smaller and its a bit like my Isabel Marant sneakers, they are quite big (and comfy) but they also make my legs look slimmer. Anyway, Nordstrom who normally ship things to the UK, does not ship this watch! Seriously…I spent hours trying to find it on a UK website so until I succeed here are 5 things I want right now!

The home I grew up in…

What do you love the most about your home? For me, it’s first the people who live in it but it’s also the memories we have as a family….Mila’s Mustache Birthday party when she was 6  and her pink party when she 7, when we got Lucas…an astonishing, to a die-for ball of fur who proceeded to wreck my vintage fur jacket, chewed my brand new Swedish Hasbeens and a few other things. When MILK magazine came to shoot our home …we had had so many photo shoots since then. It’s the weekends where we make pancakes for breakfast, pretty much every weekend except on Pancake Day….Something my mum was doing in the home I grew up in and a tradition I carried out for Mila… It’s Steve’s amazing Kiwi roast on Sunday with friends around and then curling up on the sofa to watch a family movie together with a bowl of soup in front of the TV because we’ve eaten so much! It’s the mornings when Mila was younger and jumped on our bed…. So when Hiscox asked me to write a piece for …

CHRISTMAS STYLING TIPS 01 | DECORATING WITH WASHI TAPES

I constantly used washi tapes at home to create mood boards and at work when I style shots. As mentioned in this post, unlike blue tack, masking tapes don’t stain your walls so they are perfect if you are renting or flat-sharing. Since Christmas is around the corner, I have done a round-up of the best things I’ve seen to inspire you and the great thing is that you can also get the kids involved.

Decorating with old paintings

I like the idea of decorating a modern home with an old painting…I grew up in a cluttered home, which is probably why I’m going the opposite and go for clean-looking, relaxed interiors but I love the idea of adding a bit of history into a modern home and mostly let the painting breathe rather than being lost in clutter.
