Ham, cheese & yogurt muffins with St Helen's Farm

Ham, cheese & yogurt muffins with St Helen’s Farm

Since I’m on a detox sugar to avoid eating refined sugars (#week 9), I have been trying to find delicious, healthy recipes to keep me on the right track while enjoying my food. This ham, cheese, goats milk yogurt muffin recipe has been a major success in our household! It is exactly what you need to make healthy snacks for your children or if you are traveling and want to avoid eating all the junk food on the road. The original recipe was initially with wheat flour and cows milk yogurt but since I do not tolerate gluten and I find goats milk easier to digest than cows milk, I swapped both respectively for buckwheat flour and St Helen’s Farm goats milk yogurt which we have been using since Mila was little. The health benefits of goats’ milk Steve was the one who introduced me to the benefits of goats milk Vs cows milk when I stopped nursing Mila thirteen years ago. He has always been interested in health and well-being and as the son of a kiwi …

Keeping things in balance...

Keeping things in balance…

Today I read the following (see full quote in my stories): “Just do your best to keep yourself in balance. One of the first things that causes energy misalignment, is asking or demanding too much of yourself in terms of time and effort. In other words, you just cannot burn the candle at both ends, so that you are physically tired, and then expect yourself to have a cheerful attitude…” So I went to the gym this morning and decided to take the rest of day off to fully recharge my batteries without feeling guilty. Interiors fairs like Ambiente fair in Frankfurt, are often great and inspiring but they are really hard work. I walked an average of 12Kms per day and you know how it is when you go from stand to stand…you walk slowly so stand a lot longer on your legs. Needless to say that my legs muscles were seriously aching by the end of each day. I flew to Frankfurt Thursday late afternoon and Steve flew from London in the evening to be with …

Pea coat, navy knitwear & beanie

Pea coat, navy knitwear & beanie

Pea coat, navy woolen jumper, and beanie is a combo I really love in winter times and I think it’s a look that suits the whole family. Sadly, Mila’s navy jumper is now too small for her so I took a few more pictures before letting it go. I tried to convince her to wear it with the sleeves rolled up but she is having none of that… Don’t you miss the times when we could control our kids and just tell them what to do and what to wear!?  hahaha I’ve added this warm jumper on bodieandfoupreloved along with other things that we no longer want including a few things from Isabel Marant Jigsaw has a great classic pea coat for women in the sale but I’ve listed a few more options below for you. PEA COATS FOR WOMEN [show_shopthepost_widget id=”3020295″] Mila’s beanie is from Sen No Sen, a local fashion label that has a great collection of t-shirts, sweatshirts inspired by the sea, and wetsuits. If you’re coming to the Bay Of Arcachon this Summer, …

How to avoid a hangover

How to avoid a hangover

The obvious thing to avoid a hangover is not to drink in the first place or drink a reasonable amount but sometimes, we just need to let our hair down and have a good time. So here are a few useful tips that will help you to avoid a hangover, splitting headaches, dehydration, interrupted sleep, upset stomach or feeling lethargic… Tip #1: Don’t drink on an empty stomach If you are the party host, have healthy appetizers like carrot or cucumber sticks on rice cakes or gluten-free oatcakes. My favourites are Nairn’s gluten-free oatcakes with organic houmous which makes a great healthy snack and was recommended by my Nutritionist. Tip #2: Eat before going out If you are going out, eat a meal that involves carbs, proteins and healthy fats like this delicious spicy prawns salad rather than a green salad. Food will help slow down the body’s absorption of alcohol. Red meat is great too as it contains a high concentration of amino acids and B vitamins that help process the nasty byproducts of alcohol. Tip #3: Drink …

London print and others

London print and others

How strange to write about our London print and a few others, the day I left our London home for good. If you didn’t see the news on Instagram, we’ve sold our family home to live in France by the beach. I finished packing our belongings last night including the London print we had in the lounge, Steve is finalizing everything over the weekend and the removal company is coming on Monday. It is still too new for me to write anything about the move, leaving our family house and turning the page on 23 years of my life in London but I will eventually. However, I have received several messages and emails asking me about the BODIE and FOU prints we produced when I was running the shop so I thought I would share with you all the prints I have left in stock. I have only 4 designs left: LONDON, NEW-YORK, YOU ARE LOVED and BE HAPPY All the other designs are now sold out and I don’t think I will start production again …
