The Bonnesoeurs daybed

I had lots of queries about this beautiful daybed by Bonnesoeurs when I posted stories of my studio renovations on Instagram.

So let me tell you more about it because La Dormeuse is a beautiful, clever piece of design…

Bonnesoeurs is a French design studio founded by sisters Lélia and Thélissa. They are the talented Designers behind le Lit Maison which I’m sure, you’ve seen more than once, in decoration and lifestyle magazines.
La Dormeuse (featured below) is a well-designed, beautiful daybed that you can use as a single bed, two single beds, or joined together as a 160 x 200 cm double bed.
It is stylish and practical at the same time!

I initially planned to use this beautiful daybed for one of the bedrooms in CASA PYLA but then we embarked on another renovation project and converted the adjacent garage into a 40sqm studio.
My mood board for this smaller space included the use of natural tones and light wood. Quickly, it became obvious that’s where the day bed belonged.

In fact, the light wood, natural lines, and minimal design of La Dormeuse trigged me to change my design plans for the sliding door leading to the bathroom and shelving which are now made of plywood.

Made of solid white ash wood, you can order yours with a futon mattress, a traditional mattress, or no mattress. Personally, I prefer how the futon mattresses look. We slept on them last Summer when our home was rented out and I can assess that they are also comfortable.
My next project is to make some covers that I can throw in the washing machine, which will look nice than a fitted sheet.Studio-Photo-Karine-Kong-Etagères-contreplaqué

And you can transform it into a double bed in no time…

I hope this gives you a bit more information on this beautiful daybed. Feel free to leave a comment if you have any questions or head to the Bonnesoeurs website here
