Say hello to Polly…

As some of you know, BODIE and FOU is an independent concept store which I launched with my beautiful sister Elodie eight years ago (just before Mila was born). It has been and still is a work of love, passion and drive and I can’t believe how many people we are now reaching through the world with our BODIE and FOU parcels. It feels amazing! As Confucius said: “Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life”.The other day, I introduced you to Doryan so today, I would like to introduce you to Polly who recently joined our A-team. Polly is very talented girl. Her blog has already been voted one the best interior blogs by The Telegraph and she has already done an amazing job on our new Christmas catalogue. If you need any high-res images for press or blogging, feel free to contact her, she is very helpful and if you haven’t met her yet, by all means come and say hello here on the blog.LEAVE A COMMENT THANKS! http://feeds.feedburner.com/blogspot/UxVs

COMING SOON! The BODIE and FOU Christmas catalogue

I’m so excited to finally share the front and back  covers of our beautiful Christmas catalogue! It has been quite an adventure to get this front shot done and get all the stock arriving in time for our shoot.  At some point, I had to come up with a plan B…then a plan C…then everything turned up at the same time and we went back to plan A (I credit Bikram yoga & wine for keeping me fairly sane during these past few weeks) but I’m happy.  I’m in love with this Z1 pendant light by Nelson Sepuvelda, who is also the Creative Director behind this beautiful collection of ceramics (displayed on the table) and I loved it so much that I wanted to make it the key piece of our Christmas Home collection. It’s a lamp that exudes style, lightness and was just perfect for the effortless chic, stylish Christmas I had in mind. The two white chairs are the Knot chair (another beautiful piece which we recently supplied to The Hospital Club), the black & …

They are back…

Our beautiful natural baskets are back in stock and I can finally breathe…We had a huge amount of pre-orders for this basket (which is amazing!) but our supplier postponed the initial delivery date several times (less amazing suddenly) and I was starting getting a bit stressed out.But everyone has been absolutely amazing considering the delay so thank you very much. It’s never an ideal situation when stock delivery gets pushed back but its worse when it’s for a product in high-demand so I’m glad/relieved/happy that they are back. We’ve also received this fabulous notebook (limited edition). I picked up mine at Design Junction a few weeks ago to jot down ideas for my new collection and thought they were so cool that I decided to add them to our collection. We start styling & shooting our new AW/2013 collection next week (super excited!) and will put a few sneak-peeks on Instagram so come and say hello…BisesLEAVE A COMMENT THANKS! http://feeds.feedburner.com/blogspot/UxVs

Hydrangeas, baskets and the work of Emily Quiton, Photographer

When I was on holidays in France last week, I saw a really beautiful photo of our natural basket filled with Hydrangeas, in my Instagram feed.  I love Hydrangeas. My mum has some bright pink ones in her garden in France which look vibrant and beautiful and I think it is a very poetic and feminine flower, don’t you think? Those gorgeous images were taken by Emily Quinton, an Award-Winning Photographer and you can see more of these beauties on her blog: Start-up Wife. Emily also runs Floral Friday –  a weekly celebration of floral creativity on Instagram. Check it out, there are some really beautiful photos and some very talented people out there. Today is DAY-2 in Paris and Francois and I are shooting a beautiful, vegetarian cafe for The Simple Things magazine but if you can, try to get issue 14 (out now) which features Artisan and issue 15 (out soon), which will have the cafe we shot in Brooklyn. Have a great Sunday (the natural baskets are back in stock very soon!) LEAVE A COMMENT THANKS! http://feeds.feedburner.com/blogspot/UxVs

Beautiful ceramics by Nelson Sepuvelda

One thing that made me really really happy this week was to finally receiving the collection of ceramics designed by Nelson Sepuvelda for Atelier Belarts Creations.I have been in love with his work since they launched the collection at Maison & Object in Paris in 2008. However at the time, BODIE and FOU was only one-year old, our customer base wasn’t as big as it is now and their minimum order was quite big so we decided it was too risky. Now things have changed and I’m really happy to be able to add this beautiful collection as part of our collection.I’m going to take a couple of Dadasi jugs home tonight to decorate our BBQ party on Saturday and I hope that the weather is going to get better because my plans involved outdoor styling! http://feeds.feedburner.com/blogspot/UxVs
