Tea party in our tree house

These are behind-the-scene shots I took when Côté Ouest magazine came to shoot our home last June, which I never shared with you. We moved a lot of things around in the house for the sake of the photoshoot to create new images but I’m especially fond of these photos in our tree house which was built by Steve and was a really work of love. Sadly Mila no longer fit in this fabulous denim jumpsuit which we got from Gap but you can probably find similar ones on Elias and Grace or Smallable. I’ll sell some of Mila’s clothes on Instagram soon.

3 ways to update a kitchen cupboard at very little cost

3 ways to create an inspiring cupboard for your kitchen

It has been raining for the past two days so while we are staying in our home in France, I have been keeping myself busy doing creative things like getting the girls to paint this log in white, taking new photos of the house and creating a blue moodboard on my kitchen cupboard to freshen up the look below. If you love a bit of DIY, here are three easy ways to create an inspiring and striking cupboard for your kitchen for very little cost… 1/ For a summery feel I sourced this cupboard from a second-hand shop and paid around 20 euros. I gave it a new lease of life by painting the outside white and the inside blue grey. To add a summery feel, I used inspiring blue & white images from my favourite decoration magazines and create a happy, summer holidays mood board. Each time we open the cupboard now, we are welcome by this uplifting burst of colours in different shades of blue. 2/ For an industrial feel  Vintage metal cabinets can be found on E-bay if you …

Are you interested in my bathroom renovation project ?

Despite feeling upbeat at breakfast time when the sun was out, by the time I came back from the cinema with Mila this morning, it was clear that I had caught a bug. So instead of spending the afternoon doing a bit of DIY to freshen up our pallet coffee table, I’m now in bed trying to drink lots of water, eating fruits to bring my immune system back to normal…. and I’m working on our bathroom renovation project. I was planning to share my renovation project and tips with you on the blog because tackling the renovation of a bathroom is not the easiest project but at the same time, between putting the BODIE and FOU catalogue, running the business, freelance styling & other cool writing projects, it’s becoming a challenge to find the time and motivation to spend two hours writing an article when no-one seems to find the time to leave any comment.  So rather than waste any more time, I thought I would ask you directly whether you would like me to share the renovation …

Mila’s little bedroom revamp…

A few weeks, Mila asked for more pink in her bedroom so I decided to add soft touches to her room by painting her old white desk and chair.

Creative project for a rainy Sunday

I love using grey at home. I painted one of Mila’s walls in down pipe by Farrow & Ball (pic here and there) and I used Pavillion grey on our bedroom so I have a few leftover post of paint at home.I really love this idea of painting a big, feel good heart painted on our walls…Have a wonderful Sunday… http://feeds.feedburner.com/blogspot/UxVs

Little creative project: Advent calendar

As Mila is back from her French holidays on Wednesday, I’m busy making some changes to her bedroom to surprise her and as I took down the Bird Clothes pegs I was using in her bedroom to display her drawings, I’m going to make an advent calendar with them and some paper brown bags I got from my local convenient store. I don’t know how it will look in the end but if it doesn’t work out, we still have this lovely Advent calendar from Noix de Coc’. Have a great Sunday!

Little sneak-peak of my black kitchen

Inspired by these images of black kitchens, last June I started a DIY marathon and spent two weekends painting our old kitchen in black. You can see “before” images here when our home was shot by Edition PAUMES for the London Family Style bookNow this may well be a temporary look because we have builders starting working on our garden to lay down a deck on Monday and the next stage will probably be to cover the floor titles or replace them by wooden floors to achieve the ‘delicatessen look’ I have longed for.Saying that, this DIY job was one of the most inexpensive kitchen update I ever done as I think painting came to about £50 in total and the result has impressed everyone that came around the house.

DIY project: Little foot prints

Not that I would like to do this right now on my pristine white stairs but I really like the idea for a kid bedroom and it’s an easy little project to do to add a personal touch to your home. Sources: Allt I Hemmet, Levis via Liberty Deco http://feeds.feedburner.com/blogspot/UxVs
