How to care for dry hair

How to care for dry hair

How to care for dry hair is one question that comes back regularly. Whatever the nature of your hair, every woman (me included!) dreams of having beautiful, shiny, healthy hair. Unfortunately, dry hair is inevitable when your hair is constantly battered by heat styling tools, chemical treatments, sun, salt and pollution. Last week, I became blonde (literally!). While I’m now used to this new colour and I’m starting to like it, I also noticed that my hair got really dry following the dye. It was time to take matters into my own hands and put as much care into my hair the way I do it with my face and skin. I first tried a DIY hair mask: 2ggs, 1 tbsp of honey, 2 tbsp of yogurt. Egg yolk is rich in fats and proteins and is also naturally moisturizing while the white contains the bacteria-eating enzymes that remove unwanted oils. So it supposed to moisturize dry and brittle hair. Frankly, it wasn’t a success. I mixed a whole pot but it was super cold so …

Margote Ceramiste jewellery collection

Margote Ceramiste is a French independent jewellery brand launched by Caroline Girardon in 2008. I first came across Caroline’s collection a few years ago in a French magazine when she launched this pretty bracelet adorned with a white porcelain star and this one which I adore. Back in London, I forgot about them until I spotted them again in a little boutique in Le Moulleau near our surf club in France last June. Funnily enough, Caroline recently contacted me to introduce me to her new collection Palermo Hiver 2018. While I loved the free-spirit vibe of the previous collection, the new collection is more refined, chic and feminine. I’m wearing the necklace “Grande Dame” which comes with an 18K plated gold chain and a beautiful quartz stone. In addition to looking stylish, quartz is known to get rid of energetic, emotional blocks and to stimulate your memory, imagination, and intuition. It also represents wisdom and serenity. All things that strike a chord with me…In the UK, some of Margote Ceramiste’s jewellery is available from a shop called Indian Summer on Fulham road. …

10 timeless pieces to rock style like French women (from the Arket sale)

10 timeless pieces to rock style like French women (from the Arket sale)

In less than a year, the NEW brand on the block ARKET has established itself as the go-to brands for timeless, simple and beautifully made fashion staples and their collection keeps getting better.   The latest brand launched by the Swedish giant H&M, joins the ranks of other brands we love: Monki for quirky, fun fashion, COS for minimal pieces and & Others Stories – a brand whose branding I adore but I have to admit, I often struggle to find things that would work for me (how about you!?) However, finding things in ARKET is defo not an issue! Oh no!! In fact, as the ARKET SALE IS ON, I’ve selected 10 staple pieces that grace the wardrobes of us French women because I think you will love them. #1: The black fitted shirt When I saw this beautiful black shirt, I immediately thought of Emmanuelle Alt (Editor of the French VOGUE). I’m sure you’ve seen a few pictures of Emmanuelle Alt on Pinterest. If you haven’t, you can follow the new Pinterest board I dedicated to her style here. BUY IT NOW …

GIVEAWAY: Win a Limited edition pair of Bensimon x Nils plimsolls

Bensimon x Nils Inne + Giveaway

If you were a French kid growing up in the 80s, it is very likely that you would have owned at least once a pair of Bensimon. My sister and I lived our Summers in Bensimon… At the start of each Summer, we would pick a new colour and wear them in and out during the next Summer months at the beach. As a mother now, I realised how convenient it was to get your kids a pair of Bensimon. It was the perfect, light, easy-to-care-for pair of shoes to pack for the holidays with the added value that it looked great with a pretty dress or a pair of shorts. A no-brainer really! Like my mum, I kept on the family tradition by getting Mila her own pairs of Bensimon as the start of the Summer. Recently, Bensimon did a collab’ with Nils Inne, a French Artist born in Nice (south of France) who is greatly inspired by Artists like Mark Gonzales, Dave Kinsey, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring. A great skater too, Nils designed a …

Pea coat, navy knitwear & beanie

Pea coat, navy knitwear & beanie

Pea coat, navy woolen jumper, and beanie is a combo I really love in winter times and I think it’s a look that suits the whole family. Sadly, Mila’s navy jumper is now too small for her so I took a few more pictures before letting it go. I tried to convince her to wear it with the sleeves rolled up but she is having none of that… Don’t you miss the times when we could control our kids and just tell them what to do and what to wear!?  hahaha I’ve added this warm jumper on bodieandfoupreloved along with other things that we no longer want including a few things from Isabel Marant Jigsaw has a great classic pea coat for women in the sale but I’ve listed a few more options below for you.
