8 favourite summer spots in the Bay of Arcachon

A few people coming to stay in our holidays homes (this one for 6 people and this one for 8 people) have been asking me about places to eat and what to do with young children so here are my favourite spots to eat in the Bay of Arcachon and they are all child-friendly.

TRAVEL: 4 BOUTIQUE HOTELS, ARCACHON/CAP-FERRET

I spent all my childhood holidays in the Bay of Arcachon with her (who was feeding us with Nutella and ice creams after the beach…happy times!) First in Biscarosse, when she was Director of holidays resort (and I recently realised how terribly modern she was being in management in the 60s with 4 daughters in tow), and then in Arcachon where she retired in 1977. It’s a really beautiful region with amazing sand beaches and landscapes and if you’ve never been, have a look at the photos I posted on Instagram from my recent trip… The first time, our home in France was photographed by YOU magazine in 2007, I had a hard time finding a decent design hotel to recommend to the team. There wasn’t much around and the few 4 stars hotels around, had just vile interior design with horrible bedspreads. I’m glad to say that things have changed for the best in the past seven years and here is a list of my favourite design/boutique hotels around the Bay of Arcachon to drink/eat/sleep. Sunday Market by Aurelie Lecuyer

I’ve always loved the styling and the home of Aurelie Lecuyer. It’s simple, fresh and it has a happy feel. All these fabrics and colours mixed together is really uplifting, don’t you think?I have to admit Aurelie’s room is the only one that (almost!!) makes me regret to have painted one of Mila’s wall in dark grey :-)Aurelie is a freelance stylist but she recently launched Sunday Market with her friend Anne Millet who is behind the blog Mymobilehome. I love it!Let me know what you think. It’s nice to read your comments…Someone kindly reminded me yesterday I had promised to share my chocolate coconut brownie after the Summer so I will try to do this for you next weekend. Have a lovely Sunday http://feeds.feedburner.com/blogspot/UxVs
