10 great things to do in Cap-Breton

10 great things to do in Capbreton

We had the best of times recently holidaying in Capbreton but generally speaking I love the whole vibes between Seignosse, Hossegor and Capbreton. We did lots of sports, Mila Sienna had a ball skating. We ate healthily, slept well, caught up with friends and in the end, everyone had an amazing holiday and we all trimmed down. Less than 2 hours away from our holidays home, it’s an area we know well. We had planned a trip to San-Sebastian or Biarritz if the weather was bad but it turned out absolutely gorgeous for two weeks so no sightseeing for us but we did a lot of sports and a bit of shopping. If you are looking at visiting the area in the future, here are 10 of my favourite things to do in Cap-Breton & Hossegor.   TAKE A 5-DAYS SURFING COURSE Steve, Mila and I had surfed before in Devon and Biscarosse but it was a new thing for Elodie and Lily and they both loved it. We did our course at the Cactus Surf School in Cap-Breton and I can’t …

Holiday rentals in the Bay of Arcachon

We always spent our holidays in France in this home which is now fully booked the whole Summer except the week from 22nd August but we also have this pretty house for 6 people near the Bay of Arcachon where I stayed for three months after giving birth to Mila.

Tea party in our tree house

These are behind-the-scene shots I took when Côté Ouest magazine came to shoot our home last June, which I never shared with you. We moved a lot of things around in the house for the sake of the photoshoot to create new images but I’m especially fond of these photos in our tree house which was built by Steve and was a really work of love. Sadly Mila no longer fit in this fabulous denim jumpsuit which we got from Gap but you can probably find similar ones on Elias and Grace or Smallable. I’ll sell some of Mila’s clothes on Instagram soon.

Café Pinson in The Simple Things magazine | Contributor

Did you get the latest copy of The Simple Things magazine? It’s looking fabulous as usual!I’ve bought a Kindle for my mum over the weekend as a pre-Christmas gift so she could read French books while staying with us and I need to work out if I could also get her a Simple Things mag subscription to download on her Kindle. Do you know if it’s possible?Café Pinson, the fab vegetarian café François and I photographed last time we were in Paris is in it and if you are off to the French capital, I recommend you go there for breakfast. The team is very lovely and you will only eat healthy, gluten-free things good for your body and your soul. I got so wrapped up in the making of our Christmas catalogue (you can request a copy HERE) that I never got a chance to share with you the café we shot in Brooklyn so I will post it this week.Have a great week! xoxo———————————————————————————————————————————————————————-Est ce que vous avez acheté le dernier numéro de The Simple Things magazine ? France: Inspired by…

This is a piece of the moodboard I did last time I was in France shooting our mail order catalogue which my mum left on her wall.Having spent a week on our boat, I’ve already read a lot of French decoration magazines but I’m constantly drawn into the relax vibes of these two images. The left image is from a house that belongs to Jacqueline Morabito and I can not remember who was the photographer of the right one but it is strongly becoming my main source of inspiration for our kitchen in London.I love the soft industrial touch from the Tolix chairs which could easily be replaced by these industrial stools in white, the big, comfy French armchair, the linen table runner on the wooden table, the walls half painted in soft grey and the mix of wooden utensils and white crockery….An simple, relax look easy to achieve…Right! We’re off to the food market in La Teste near Arcachon. Have a great Sunday! C’est une partie du moodboard que j’ai fait la derniere fois …

White stairs….

Half-term is coming to an end…Two more days left in France until our next get-together in April and some great memories of our few days skiing in Andorra with Mila (5 1/2 years old) and Lily (7 years old) before heading back to London (I strongly recommend Andorra to any families who want to go skiing with young children…).And to top it up, Steve has finally agreed to try white stairs at home so now I can’t wait to get back and get rid of our old carpet to get something like this!I’m also thinking that I may even revamp one of the top bedrooms using Piet Hein Eek’s scrapwood wallpaper on one wall…I’m still hesitating between PHE-1, PHE-2 and PHE-3 but I think it would look great against white floorboards. What do you think? Stairs from Paul Massey’s house Les vacances de Fevrier arrivent a leur fin…Encore deux jours en France avant de tous nous retrouver en Avril et de super souvenirs de nos quelques jours au ski en Andorre avec Mila et Lily …
