10 great things to do in Cap-Breton

10 great things to do in Cap-Breton

We had the best of times recently holidaying in Cap-Breton (I really love the vibes in Hossegor & Cap-Breton). We did lots of sports, the girls had a ball skating, we ate healthily, slept well, caught up with friends and in the end, everyone had an amazing holiday and we all trimmed down. Less than 2 hours away from our holidays home, it’s an area we know well. We had planned a trip to San-Sebastian or Biarritz if the weather was bad but it turned out absolutely gorgeous for two weeks so no sightseeing for us but we did a lot of sports and a bit of shopping. If you are looking at visiting the area in the future, here are 10 of my favourite things to do in Cap-Breton & Hossegor.   TAKE A 5-DAYS SURFING COURSE Steve, Mila and I had surfed before in Devon and Biscarosse but it was a new thing for Elodie and Lily and they both loved it. We did our course at the Cactus Surf School in Cap-Breton and I can’t recommend them enough, especially Clement …

Holiday rentals in the Bay of Arcachon

We always spent our holidays in France in this home which is now fully booked the whole Summer except the week from 22nd August but we also have this pretty house for 6 people near the Bay of Arcachon where I stayed for three months after giving birth to Mila.

Tea party in our tree house

These are behind-the-scene shots I took when Côté Ouest magazine came to shoot our home last June, which I never shared with you. We moved a lot of things around in the house for the sake of the photoshoot to create new images but I’m especially fond of these photos in our tree house which was built by Steve and was a really work of love. Sadly Mila no longer fit in this fabulous denim jumpsuit which we got from Gap but you can probably find similar ones on Elias and Grace or Smallable. I’ll sell some of Mila’s clothes on Instagram soon.

Café Pinson in The Simple Things magazine | Contributor

Did you get the latest copy of The Simple Things magazine? It’s looking fabulous as usual!I’ve bought a Kindle for my mum over the weekend as a pre-Christmas gift so she could read French books while staying with us and I need to work out if I could also get her a Simple Things mag subscription to download on her Kindle. Do you know if it’s possible?Café Pinson, the fab vegetarian café François and I photographed last time we were in Paris is in it and if you are off to the French capital, I recommend you go there for breakfast. The team is very lovely and you will only eat healthy, gluten-free things good for your body and your soul. I got so wrapped up in the making of our Christmas catalogue (you can request a copy HERE) that I never got a chance to share with you the café we shot in Brooklyn so I will post it this week.Have a great week! xoxo———————————————————————————————————————————————————————-Est ce que vous avez acheté le dernier numéro de The Simple Things magazine ? My latest DIY project..

Always have a little DIY project in the kitchen, you never know what crazy hours of the night you will end up tackling it! I tackled mine at 2am (thx to Madame Insomnia) and ended up chatting with some nice people (thanks Instagram) I found the chair above in the street last year. I wasn’t too keen on the dark wood (which i sanded) and the blue fabric (see how it looked like when my home was featured in ELLE DECORATION) but the shape was perfect to achieve the style of Jacqueline Morabito (below). follow my Pinterest for more J. Morabito inspiration But then Lucas started sleeping on it…. Then Lucas started chewing the cushion… In the end, my lovely dog wrecked it completely (see picture on Instagram) so rather than re-upholster it, I decided to paint the fabric in white and use the chair as a prop. I had done this last Summer on a French armchair in my house in France (credit to my creative mum who suggested it) and the result was fab…very Maison …

Moodboard inspired by Paris…

In about 30min, I will head off to Gare du Nord to catch the Eurostar and go back to London. I had such a cool time. The weather was fab, I caught up with lots of friends at the weekend and still managed to run 3 times with Elodie early in the morning which makes me very happy but usually, I can’t be bothered doing anything when I’m travelling.  M&O was tiring, it’s a massive show and you spent a lot of time walking but I have found some really gems, some beautiful things for kids that give me butterflies, a gorgeous bag for men and lots of ideas. Until I see you on the other side of the Channel, here is a little mood board inspired by Paris…   1. Paris map print 2. Decorative hearts 3. Industrial clip on light 4. Birds clothes pegs used as paper clips Dans 30min, je vais aller a la Gare du Nord pour prendre mon train direction London. J’ai passé 4 jours géniaux. Il a fait super …
