Dreaming of a grey sofa for our holidays home in France….

As much as I love our Ghost sofa by Paola Navone in London, a white sofa would definitively not have been practical for our holidays home in France (you can see more photos here).  The house caters for 8 people but has often a tribe of young children running around, entering the house from our side to another, spreading sand from the beach to eventually collapse on our large sofa in front of the TV.As I did not intend to have a nervous breakdown each time we were there, I deliberately kept the interior design of the house simple and low maintenance when I re-decorated the house a few years ago.Failing to find an affordable, contemporary designer sofa in grey which was my first choice (and under pressure from the CFO of the house to stick to our budget), I went for a large, modulable dark brown sofa from the Swedish giant – which is ok and comfortable but looking at these inspiring interiors in hues of greys, whites and wood, I really wish I could change our sofa to a grey one now. {White Styling} from the weekend….

On Sunday, our photographer Francois and I shot the BODIE and FOU White Christmas collection* in a gorgeous family home in West London (big thanks to Greg & Amanda for their wonderful welcome).Steve went for a bike ride with his friend so I took Mila with us on the shoot and well, now that she is 7, she no longer can be bothered to model for me so all I get now is her feet…but here is a sneak-peek of what’s coming…I’m so in love with everything…The tealight holders are made of bone china with a matte finish and come with a STAR or HEART design. They are gorgeous and very stylish (£13 each).I use stars a lot to decorate our home so I’m a huge fan of this beautiful decorative star (only £15) and this little polar bear family (£28 for a set of Papa Bear and Baby bear) is just a-do-rable and will look perfect in a nursery or kids bedroom. The paper Christmas decorations come in set of 3 and you get a …

Inspiring Elle Interior Norway

When I was young, our dad used to tell Elodie and I that our family name ‘Köng‘ (to be pronounced Kung) came from Norway…Apparently our great, great grand father was a sailor who settled down in Norway and started a family, blablabla and years later you ended up with me!Then when I was 16, he turned around and said that after all our surname might have come from Switzerland! Erm… no offence to the Swiss (I love the Swiss especially her) but between having Vikings as ancestors or being Swiss, I just felt that I had more Viking spirit in my blood than Swiss so I stick to my Viking story…Anyway, I doubt it’s why I love so much Elle Interior Norway but I do! I love this mag and their Xmas issue looks just amazing!PS: And I’ve just found out this morning that they also featured my favourite bag: La Tropezienne tote bag by Clare Vivier…so happy Quand j’etais jeune, mon pere nous racontait a Elodie et moi que notre nom de famille ‘Köng‘ …
