Decorating with copper lighting

Decorating with copper & brass touches

Early this week, I added this beautifully styled kitchen to my Pinterest and realised, digging a bit further, that it was actually a rendering by Raya Todorova rather than a photo, which is pretty amazing. I love the balance between the three copper pendant lights and these 3 beautiful stools against the black kitchen units. I’m not too sure where these lights are from but the Freja pendant light and the Original BTC Stanley copper pendant light available from Marks & Spencer  and Liberty look very similar (still hunting for the stools though…). Since launching the Aston pendant light a few months ago, we received a lot of orders from Australia for residential and commercial projects and I suspect this will be soon the case with the new black Freja pendant light which has a similar copper finish inside to these ones below seen in the home of Athena Calderone. If you are after some beautiful wooden bar stools, check out the Raft bar stools by &Tradition and the Devlin bar stool from Made.com. The Safari chair in the foreground is available from French Connection Homeware (seen …

Metro tiled Kitchens | 3 inspiring kitchens to achieve the look

Since I posted about this shop converted into a home, I have been thinking about metro tiles. I think they are a great option to update a kitchen on a small budget as tiling a single wall is sufficient to make an impact. My favourite is the first one below. The black and white contrasting scheme feels modern and contemporary while the wooden units and pendant lights add a relaxed vibe to the room. With its copper finish, the Kant lamp would be perfect to achieve a similar look. Same goes for the Kathleen Hills black pendant lights that come in different shapes (I have used them in our kitchen in France)On the opposite site of the monochromatic spectrum, Photographer Paul Massey went for an all-white kitchen displaying white pots and pans and using distressed wood to give it a country style look – the result is a room that is airy and welcoming. The third one (which is from a home in Australia) is clean, sleek but is a bit too predictable for me, however I love the metro tiles against the concrete worktop – …

Inspiring (clearing) Sunday….

For the past few weeks, I have been de-cluttering our home like crazy.  One cupboard after another, room by room, I am diligently going through everything and I can’t tell you how good this feels.  Sometimes when things get too much (and I mean too busy), something has to give in so I’m streamlining our ‘family procedures’, the way I would have done it at work :-) Today, I’m tackling my Macbook and I found these pictures I took of Lily and Mila in our holiday home in France. The pendant light is the large one by Kathleen Hills, Lily wears our new blue grey linen apron and Mila wears the vintage pink linen apron (more colours for kids and grown-ups here). Have a great Sunday xoxo http://feeds.feedburner.com/blogspot/UxVs
