Have you used these light garlands indoors? I’ve always used mine outside when we had friends around for a BBQ or for Mila’s birthday party. At home, I tend to use fairy lights which are a lot smaller but I’m really loving how festive these garlands make a home feel festive throughout the year.
Following my recent post on “How to decorate with black pendant lights”, we had lots of queries for this striking hand knitted black sisal Z1 pendant light, which is now available for pre-order. You can also see the version below in this beautiful family warehouse in Amsterdam I featured last year.
Since I’m splitting my time between London and our home in France, I’ve started re-decorating the house. I’ve ordered a new sofa cover from Bemz in dark grey linen designed by Tricia Guild to freshen up our Ikea’s sofa and I was planning to hang two small Koushi lamps in the lounge. However I think the room needs the large model so if someone wishes to purchase them and collect them from the Bay of Arcachon, please let me know.

Early this week, I added this beautifully styled kitchen to my Pinterest and realised, digging a bit further, that it was actually a rendering by Raya Todorova rather than a photo, which is pretty amazing. I love the balance between the three copper pendant lights and these 3 beautiful stools against the black kitchen units. I’m not too sure where these lights are from but the Freja pendant light and the Original BTC Stanley copper pendant light available from Marks & Spencer and Liberty look very similar (still hunting for the stools though…). Since launching the Aston pendant light a few months ago, we received a lot of orders from Australia for residential and commercial projects and I suspect this will be soon the case with the new black Freja pendant light which has a similar copper finish inside to these ones below seen in the home of Athena Calderone. If you are after some beautiful wooden bar stools, check out the Raft bar stools by &Tradition and the Devlin bar stool from Made.com. Born in the US and living in Paris, Mark Eden Schooley is a talented Photographer, Designer, and a Globetrotter… He started his career in Paris with one of my favourite designers Nelson Sepuvelda for Bloom magazine, the magazine launched by trends forecaster Li Edelkoort and now regularly shoots for the likes of Elle Decoration, Bloom, Elle Decor. In the recent years, both Mark Eden Schooley and Nelson Sepuvelda collaborated with Dutch company Ay Illuminate, to design an amazing collection of lights inspired by nature. Our best-selling Z1 pendant light is one of them… -“We believe that local handicraft carries the genes of cultural identity”- Travelling to Asia and Africa, they worked closely with local people to bring together local handicrafts and skills from different cultures. Each light is handmade, unique and a symbol of cultural identity. In a word, where we constantly hear about major brands producing their lines in factories in Asia to the detriment of the workers’ well-being, it’s reassuring to see that some brands have still some integrity. Yes the lamps are expensive but they are handmade (not by a 5 …
