3 ways to update your guest bedroom for Christmas

I’m known for kicking off DIY projects the day after Christmas…A few years ago, after a jolly Christmas meal where I ate for the entire year, I got restless and enrolled my brother and sister to revamp our mum’s beach house next door and we spent the last few days of the year stripping wallpapers off and painting everything in white to bring more light to each room. We had a great time, cracking up jokes about our childhood and listening to old French pop songs on the radio although I doubt they would like to repeat the experience – one DIY Xmas is enough but I still enjoy doing things around the home to make it look better. With Christmas around the corner, you’re bound to have family staying at your place so here are a few things you can do to create inspiring and inviting guest bedrooms. 1. | 2. photography: Ric Wallis | Styling Deb McLean via  | 3.  Photography: François Kong | Styling: Karine Kong  In collaboration with Time4Sleep | All opinions and layouts my own Je suis connue …

Styling tips to make your Christmas decoration easy

Early this week, I shared some of my styling tips to decorate your home for Christmas at little cost using masking tapes. If you have children around to give you a hand, that’s even better! Mila loved doing the Christmas tree on the wall or making little flags to decorate cakes and pies…and then eating the pies afterwards! Today, I would like to show you what Frida from Trendenser did with black & white masking tapes to give you more ideas. From decorating tea lights (you can get cheap ones from Ikea) to jazzing up Christmas gifts, there is a huge amount of things you can do with masking tapes… If some of you have lovely images of your creative projects, by all means email them to me to leblog(at)bodieandfou(dot)com and I will post them here with a link to your site or blog if you have one {Thank you for leaving a comment. Reading them always makes me very happy} (C) Trendenser En début de semaine, je vous ai montré quelques unes de mes suggestions pour créer une décoration …

4 Styling tips to make your Christmas decoration easy

If you are on Instagram, you may have seen that over the weekend, Mila painted a pumpkin left over from Halloween in silver. It was a creative job we both enjoy – although for different reasons :-) but that pretty much kick-started our Xmas decorations… For those who haven’t received a copy of the BODIE and FOU Christmas catalogue*, here are four styling tips I put together using washi tapes. I’m a big fan of japanese masking tapes and I use them regularly at home and at work to create mood boards. Versatile, easy to use, they are an inexpensive way to get cracking with Christmas decorations… *You can see the BODIE and FOU catalogue on Issuu here {Thank you for leaving a comment. Mila’s little bedroom revamp…

A few weeks, Mila asked for more pink in her bedroom so I decided to add soft touches to her room by painting her old white desk and chair.

Awesome WE read + a little creative project

Hello! I realised this morning that with everything going on, I totally forgot to tell you that our gorgeous, inspiring, awesome Spring Summer 2012 catalogue was now available on issuu. The print version will be mailed to BODIE and FOU customers and those who requested a copy next Friday. Voila! job done and I hope you like it !I also wanted to share with you these FREE downlodable vintage paper placemats from the Pretty Blog (I love the cutlery one).Have a lovely Sunday.I’m off to make a cake for Mila to take to school for her birthday (I’m one week behind) and I have to start planning her Birthday party. This year she doesn’t want any theme, so no moustache party like we did for her 6th birthday, and no lovely decoration like we did for her 5th birthday. I cant work out if I’m relieved (because let’s face it I’m exhausted..things have been a little bit crazy since the beginning of the year) or a bit disappointed… http://feeds.feedburner.com/blogspot/UxVs

Super easy creative project

A few years ago, a US customer sent us some lovely images where she used our Bird Clothes pegs to hang the name of her wedding guests for the seating plan (which I thought was a genius idea!) When Mila was 5, I used them in her bedroom to display her drawings masterpieces… I also use them too to keep packs of rice and bulgur wheat closed in the cupboard and as paper clips but that’s just me….However, the food bags thing then gave me the idea of using them to make an advent calendar… This year – LET’S BE CRAZY!!! – I may use them for Mila’s upcoming Birthday party…

Creative project for a rainy Sunday

I love using grey at home. I painted one of Mila’s walls in down pipe by Farrow & Ball (pic here and there) and I used Pavillion grey on our bedroom so I have a few leftover post of paint at home.I really love this idea of painting a big, feel good heart painted on our walls…Have a wonderful Sunday… http://feeds.feedburner.com/blogspot/UxVs

Little creative projects for the weekend

A couple of weeks ago, I posted this creative project to make an advent calendar out of bird clothes pegs. This weekend, you could make these pretty wings out of newspapers and a thin cardboard sheet (the one you get in your husband’s new shirts would be perfect).Alternatively, you can create this gorgeous garland out of washi masking tape. Have a great, inspiring weekend   via Pinterest http://feeds.feedburner.com/blogspot/UxVs
