Parisian inspiration

Parisian inspiration

I’m in Paris for a couple of days with a program including editing recent shoots, catching up with friends and working in my PJs from the comfort of my sister’s beautiful flat. Elodie is having a new kitchen fitted in a couple of weeks and even her flat is filled with Ikea brown boxes, it still feels very peaceful. I’m currently working on revamp project for our home in London which is being photographed on the 20th November. Not much time left to do everything but I’ve never backed down in front of a challenge. I’m leaning towards softening the look of our lounge with natural materials, texture and handmade things. If you know a few great Ceramists in the UK or ceramic retailers, please let me know. Also, if you’re coming to Paris soon, know that the Salon de la Photo is on. Sadly, I will miss it because I’m flying to Switzerland on a press trip on Thursday to visit Vitra and given how many vintage Vitra pieces I own, it is one …

LOVE ETC How to attend the best French wedding show in Paris

LOVE / ETC

I’m in Paris this week to portrait shoot two beautiful women (see Iris here) and go to LOVE/ETC, a wedding show which I find very inspiring. I’m not in the market for a wedding neither do I want to shoot weddings but from a styling and concept point of view, I think LOVE/ETC offers a huge source of inspiration and creativity. Launched by Nessa Buonomo, Editor of the amazing and well-curated wedding blog: La Marié aux Pieds Nus, LOVE/ETC gathers together wonderful Stylists, Wedding dress Designers, DJ and Independent Photographers like Chloé, Yoris who I love. So if you are planning your wedding soon, it’s the perfect place to find the most creative people from wedding dress Designers, make-up Artists, wedding Photographers, DJs, video makers, etc. Ive added a few photos below but will share more in my Instagram stories tomorrow LOVE/ETC is on 04th February, Espace Commines, 17 rue Commines, Paris 75003 //Photography by Yann Audic SOME GORGEOUS WHITE OUTFITS I LOVE

Grand Pigalle Hotel, Paris

Grand Pigalle Hotel in Paris

I usually stay with my sister when I go to Paris but last week I spent one night with my friend Catherine at the Grand Pigalle Hotel. I hadn’t spent some time in Pigalle since I moved to London 19 years ago so needless to say that the area had changed a lot. South Pigalle (now called SoPi by hipsters) is a great district that has a lot to offer. So if you’re looking to spend a few days in Paris or feel like trying a district you’ve never been before, I have created a handy Jauntful map for you with all my favourite addresses in South Pigalle (see below) including cool fashion and second-hand shops, design shops and places to drink, eat and sleep. You can also download my guide as a pdf here. If you want to see the other places I visited in Paris (I’m back there at the end of the month), you can also follow me on Instagram and check hashtag #bodieandfoutravelsparis SOUTH PIGALLE  Photography: photo 1 by Karine Köng, all the others by  © Kristen Pelou  | The night was sponsored by the Grand …

Elodie's gorgeous & cosy Parisian flat

Elodie’s gorgeous Parisian flat

A couple of weeks ago, fresh from returning from San-Francisco, I then headed to Paris to take back my niece Lily after she had spent the holidays with us in the Bay of Arcachon. While I’m still finding my marks, this unplanned ‘gap year’ in France has been fantastic to see more of my family and old friends. I love staying in my sister’s flat. It is such a cosy, beautiful space with a real feel-good, happy vibe to it yet, the happy vibe was not a given… Elodie got the key for her new home the day our dad left us. She had spent the morning unpacking and decided to have a nap and I think, she had just woken up when I called her to announce her the bad news. After several challenging months where Life was just throwing lemons at her, it was one bad news too many but I kept telling her it didn’t matter. This was the place for her, the place she would call home and feel happy no matter what so credit to her for turning …

Things to do with a child in Paris

10 inspiring things to do in Paris

I wasn’t really feeling the love at the start of March…work was keeping me in London the whole month with no time to fly to the south west of France to be with Steve and Mila and I wasn’t mentally prepared to spend Mother’s Day (UK) AND my birthday alone. So I booked a ticket to head to Paris and ended up spending a fabulous weekend with the favourite women in my life: Mila, my sister, my mum and my best friend. If you are heading off to Paris soon, here are 10 inspiring things that will make you feel good inside out:

Café Pinson in The Simple Things magazine | Contributor

Did you get the latest copy of The Simple Things magazine? It’s looking fabulous as usual!I’ve bought a Kindle for my mum over the weekend as a pre-Christmas gift so she could read French books while staying with us and I need to work out if I could also get her a Simple Things mag subscription to download on her Kindle. Do you know if it’s possible?Café Pinson, the fab vegetarian café François and I photographed last time we were in Paris is in it and if you are off to the French capital, I recommend you go there for breakfast. The team is very lovely and you will only eat healthy, gluten-free things good for your body and your soul. I got so wrapped up in the making of our Christmas catalogue (you can request a copy HERE) that I never got a chance to share with you the café we shot in Brooklyn so I will post it this week.Have a great week! xoxo———————————————————————————————————————————————————————-Est ce que vous avez acheté le dernier numéro de The Simple Things magazine ?
