Be so good that people can't ignore you

Be undeniably good

I have been spending a lot of time with my camera these past few months. With progress comes compliments, inspiration, hopes and new dreams… It has been 8 months since I sold the e-shop. During these 8 months, I took the time to get my life back, to focus on doing things I love rather than things I had to do because I was running a business. I took time to re-kinkle with an old passion of mine and to start a new one like surfing. From surfing & photography, came a new creative project: People from the Sea and for the first time in 8 months, I feel inspired to look at a new entrepreneurial project. On my search to how to make it a success in “my next life”, I came across this quote from Steve Martin which was so simple and obvious that it hit me like a ton of bricks. Yes you need hard work, passion and the right attitude to make it happen but most of it, you need to become the best at what you do and focus …

Summer '16 Mila Sienna

Summer ’16

Mila is on holidays from tonight… Two months by the beach and for the first time I’ll be with her rather than working in London. I have tried to work out thousands of options in my head, how I could make this work, how I could make the most of our time together as we may never have another opportunity like this, how I have to breath in and treasure every second I spend with her because in about 7/8 years, she will sail off to University and lives her own life and yet I have to find the time to work. Will see… I bet you wonder why, let alone how, we are splitting our times between London and France…Well, initially we were supposed to move to Sydney so the idea was that Steve and Mila would live in France for a year to experience French life while I was running my business in London and commuting. In paper, it all sounded very glamorous. In reality, it wasn’t easy for any of us. Steve was a single father …

Sunday thoughts

A calming photo to end what has been two busy weeks first in Barcelona then l’ile de Ré. Both were press trips and while I’m open this year to embrace as many new experiences and be grateful and appreciative, I realise also that I need to pace myself and look after myself better…consistently. Both trips were very different but equally great fun and I ended up meeting lots of new Bloggers and laughed like I hadn’t laughed in a long time but I also ended up eating too much, drinking too much and not sleeping enough so I’m taking a few minutes tonight to try to re-focus. Not an easy task…I don’t want to regret the good times I had during these past few days but I wish I was more consistent. For some reasons, each time I’m travelling, my good resolutions go out of the window which annoys me. How about you? How was your weekend?

Surfing at 40+

Surfing at 40+ because it’s never too late to learn something new

Surfing at 40+ was never an issue because age for me is not an issue. I’m a firm believer that it’s never too late to start anything you want in life. You can start over, each morning and do whatever you want. I don’t define myself or what I want to do by my age and neither should you. I think it is how you feel in your own skin that matters. You can be a fit, healthy chick in your fifties and a couch potato in your twenties. You can be cancer or depression survivor and then turn your life around in a matter of months. Being comfortable with my age, wrinkles and fine lines are one of my great achievements. Yes, sometimes my skin is dry. Some nights I drink too much, don’t sleep enough and look like hell. However, generally speaking, I’m OK with who I am and I credit this mostly to what I eat and the lifestyle changes I’ve made over the past four years. I have still work to do to be comfortable with my …

Girlfriends' best skincare tips

25 skincare & beauty tips to try

A couple of weeks ago, my sister Elodie and a bunch of girlfriends came down to the Bay of Arcachon for a girls weekend. I made this delicious chocolate zucchini cake twice and tried a new anti-inflammatory green juice. We ate good healthy food, laughed a lot and talked about food, sugar intake, clean eating, skincare, make-up, ageing gravefully and single motherhood (3 out of 5 in our group). We all came out of the weekend feeling energised and positive with so much to take from each other so I thought I would share with you all the skincare tips we exchanged.
