BODIE and FOU Voted Best Interior Shops by ELLE DECORATION NORWAY

Trop coooool!!!!I’ve just found out that BODIE and FOU have been voted Best Interior Shops by ELLE DECORATION NORWAYI always get super excited when we get featured in Elle Decoration Norway because… well, it’s Elle Deco (!!) and secondly because my great grand-father was Norwegian. At least it was the story that my dad told me until I was 16 “your grand-dad was a sailor, blabla…Köng comes from Koening meaning King, blablabla” and in fact, knowing that the Viking spirit was running in my blood gave me some kind of pride and a great answer to all the stupid boys at school who thought they were hilarious when they were calling me King-Kong.And then at the age of 16, my dad told me that actually he wasn’t sure and my great grand-dad may have been from Switzerland….What!? So not only I’m no longer the daughter of a Viking but now it seems that the grand-dad was a bit of slapper with wives in every port from Norway to Switzerland…great! To this day, I have no idea where the …

My home in Scotland on Sunday

I almost feel ashamed posting this. We had had so much great press coverage lately, it’s absolutely insane and you are probably getting fed up seeing my face and my home all the time :-) I have finally received the pdf of the article featured in Scotland on Sunday and I love the photos taken by Debra Hurford Brown and I would especially like to thank Tessa Williams who contacted me for this article and who has been a real star!

The BODIE and FOU Blog in Inside Out magazine

Wow…I have been blessed with some amazing PR recently. First my home was featured in the fab French magazine MILK (you can read the article in English here) and it was also featured in Dutch magazine 101 Woonideen, I got interviewed by The Scotland Mail on Sunday and yesterday I answered an interview for ELLE DECORATION (Elle Deco!! I mean this has been on my wish list since the day I started BODIE and FOU!!). To top it up, this morning I received a PDF from Inside Out magazine featuring my blog as one of 6 blogs to bookmarks and I’m in great company with Blooming Lovely, Shoe Box Dwelling, Oh How Very Lovely, Gardens in Unexpected Places and For The Love of Type. So big thank you to Lee who wrote the piece. I’ve already told her when she contacted me, that it made really happy because I genuinely love Inside Out and it is one magazine I always grab each time we go to New-Zealand to visit Steve’s family. If you live in Australia or New-Zealand, you know what I’m talking about…right!?

Our French home in the Telegraph magazine

As promised, here is a copy of the 4-page feature of our holiday home in France published in The Telegraph magazine last Saturday. Just seeing our home again makes me want to go there but unfortunately no time to escape for the time being… A big thank you to Interior Stylist and Writer Rohini Wahi and Photographer Michael Paul who took some amazing photos of our home making it looks like a lot better than it actually is and the team at The Telegraph especially Homes Editor David Nicholls who has always been incredibly supportive of our little business and the designs we have in our collection. I had so many nice emails from readers about our home and what we have achieved with BODIE and FOU that I feel quite tearful today so thank you very much for all your support. It is a lot of hard work but moments like these make it worthwhile….thank you again! Entente cordiale A holiday home in Arcachon benefits from a French-kiwi collaboration. by Rohini Wahi. My ‘Expert tips’: Bonfire night in Easy Living

I was really excited this weekend because Easy Living magazine had contacted me last Summer to be part of a feature they were writing on bonfire night and the November issue was out!! So I rushed to my local newsagent and here I was…. on page 35, just before Designer Sophie Conran. It was funny when they contacted me because I remembered the first time I went to a Bonfire party in Bristol fourteen years ago. It was my first Winter in the UK and that night, I was wearing a nice dress thinking we were off to a party to watch fireworks and have wine (wishful thinking). Honestly, an hour later, I could have worn a Christian Dior dress or a black bin bag, it would have made no difference! My whole body was swathed layers of fleeces that people had lent to me so I could cope with the minus 2 temperature outside!Talk about cultural shock!! Nothing had prepared me to spend the whole night outside eating sausages and drinking beers and watching …
