15 chunky knits for a cosy fall

Come October when temperatures drop down and it starts raining a bit too much for my liking, I often find myself reaching out for big chunky knitwear. The kind that makes you feel warm, cosy and safe somehow and the bigger the better… The one above, modelled by Sabrina Loffreda and featured in Vogue Ukraine in January 2016, is from the Acne Studios AW 2016 collection (now sold out). However, FEAR NOT! I have rounded up 15 chunky knits and style outfits I love to inspire you. Enjoy! 1/THIS WOOL-BLEND KNIT SWEATER – Click here I love this look. 10 timeless pieces to rock style like French women (from the Arket sale)

10 timeless pieces to rock style like French women (from the Arket sale)

In less than a year, the NEW brand on the block ARKET has established itself as the go-to brands for timeless, simple and beautifully made fashion staples and their collection keeps getting better.   The latest brand launched by the Swedish giant H&M, joins the ranks of other brands we love: Monki for quirky, fun fashion, COS for minimal pieces and & Others Stories – a brand whose branding I adore but I have to admit, I often struggle to find things that would work for me (how about you!?) However, finding things in ARKET is defo not an issue! Oh no!! In fact, as the ARKET SALE IS ON, I’ve selected 10 staple pieces that grace the wardrobes of us French women because I think you will love them. #1: The black fitted shirt When I saw this beautiful black shirt, I immediately thought of Emmanuelle Alt (Editor of the French VOGUE). I’m sure you’ve seen a few pictures of Emmanuelle Alt on Pinterest. If you haven’t, you can follow the new Pinterest board I dedicated to her style here. BUY IT NOW …

Isabel Marant 15 must-haves in SS18 collection

Isabel Marant SS 2018 collection

Follow my blog with Bloglovin Isabel Marant is without a doubt, the originator of French girl cool, and her distinctive style—a little bit bohemian, a little bit streetwise, a little bit undone, and totally free-spirited—has always been my fav. Isabel Marant must-have #2 At £140, this very sexy one-shoulder Sage swimsuit is the perfect little piece to order right now! #Weeklyfashionedit | Cream coat & cashmere jumper

#weekly fashion edit

After fighting a sore throat and the beginning of the flu, I’m finally on the mend and off to Hossegor for a few days to see Mila who is taking part in the bodyboard French championships. Quite a big thing since she has only recently starting bodyboarding. A part of me is super proud and the other part is a bit freaked out. Last time she took part in a competition (her first), she came 4th which was fantastic but the waves were 1.5m high and the ocean was pretty agitated and this week looks like it’s gonna be the same if not worse so will see. Anyway…I had started my board with this navy coat which is very similar to the one I’m wearing here but then, I came across this beautiful cream coat (2). Cream coats always look very chic and this one is perfect to wear over a pair of frayed jeans or wool trousers if you want to go for the cream on the cream look. Given the weather and our needs for warmth, …

Freddie Harrel by Karine Kong Photography

Style crush: denim & gold

Last week, Habitat kindly invited me to attend an event at the Hoxton hotel, where three lovely women I follow on Instagram: Alex, Erica and Freddie talked about their career, getting that work/balance right and making the leap to be full-time Bloggers. As I have longed to do a portrait session with Freddie & Alex since last year when I decided to focus on my portrait photography and more precisely women portraits, I didn’t think twice and flew to London. Being fashion Bloggers, the three of them work mostly from home (although Alex just started renting out space while her flat is being renovated). You can see Erica’s family home in North Essex, Alex’s lovely flat and Freddie’s colourful flat on the Habitat website. It was an insightful evening and Freddie mentioned a couple of apps that you may want to try to improve your productivity. The first one was Spark by Readdle which I’ve heard before but generally speaking, I think I need to be told things three times to do something about it… Sparks enables you to sort out your inbox quickly in …

#weekly fashion edit: leopard print coat + leather trousers

#weekly fashion edit

Every fall season, I lust after something in leopard print like this Clare V. clutch … Here I wear a pair of leopard heels from Isabel Marant which I grabbed in the sale two Summers ago and I also own a pair of leopard ankle boots from L.K. Bennett bought years ago, which haven’t aged. So my point is that whatever you invest in this season, leopard print is something that will come back EVERY season. This season, I bet on this beautiful leopard print coat (1) from Hush, which you can wear over a pair of skinny jeans, pleated skirt or leather trousers (5) It’s a total matter of personal choice (and age) but when it comes to wear leopard print, I try not to mix it with leather + high heels + red lipstick. For some reasons, I have this vision of Peggy Mitchell from Eastenders in my head, which will probably means nothing to those outside the UK but I’m very conscious of not looking like that when I wear leopard print. There is a …

#Weeklyfashionedit | A gorgeous fitted dress inspired by the movie The Dressmaker

#weekly fashion edit

I’ve recently watched The Dressmaker on Netflix which was one of the best movies I had seen in a long time. Have you seen it !? Beside Kate Winslet’s acting which is always fantastic (I think!) and the few tears I shed, I was mesmerised by all the beautiful dresses in the movie, designed by Award-winning costume designer Margot Wilson. The fifties are not my favourite area (I’m more of a feel-good 70’s disco & 80’s pop kind of girl ;-) but I have to say when Winslet’s character Tilly stepped out at a local rugby match wearing a black dress similar to the iconic dress Rita Hayworth wore in Gilda, I was like “wow”. The dresses went on to get better and better. As the heroine studied with the best of the best fashion Designers in Europe, her clothes in the movie reflect the influences of mentors like Balenciaga and Dior, which is really pleasing to the eyes. Added to the great acting of the whole cast: Winslet, Liam Hemsworth, Hugo Weaving, Judy Davis, and up-and-comer Sarah Snook, The Dressmaker …

THE EDIT Black suit & Veja trainers

THE EDIT: Black suit & Veja trainers

THE EDIT (previously named #weeklyfashionedit) is to inspire you to put together a minimalist wardrobe with fashion staples. I have recently stored my Spring/Summer clothes into a few of these stackable storage boxes. I’m ready now to re-organise my wardrobe with things to wear in Autumn/Winter. Emptying your drawers at the start of each season will help you to see the things you want to keep or get rid of. It’s like a blank canvas. Suddenly, you’re facing an empty wardrobe and it’s much easier to put back things you really want. “70% staple pieces, 30% on-trend pieces is the ratio I’m aiming for, in my wardrobe this year” Always aiming to be as minimalist as I can, I’m aiming to have fashion staples with a few on-trend items to complete the look. I want pieces that will last me for a few years. Clothes that truly reflect my style and will work for a few seasons. Based on its cost per wear, these Beckett sneakers by Isabel Marant for instance, have proven to be a great …
