Off-the-shoulder dress

I love off-the-shoulder dresses or tops! I, like many women, could write a long list of things I don’t like about my body… However, I’m working on A-DO-RING (yes adoring not just loving) my body. So I will focus on the two things I like I find sexy and that is my shoulders and collar line. It is important to focus on the positive. There is always something positive about our bodies. This is why I always ask women who contact me to photograph them, what part of their body they love the most. They often love just one or two things about themselves. However, I see so much beauty in them. In their expressions, their smile, their energy, their personality and that’s really what I’m trying to bring out in all my portraits…but I digress. 16 years of classical ballet has given me a decent posture and the recent daily workout during lockdown has given me back a bit of arms definition. So I thought I would treat myself with a gown that would enhance the …

Plaftorm wedges & maxi dress

Plaftorm wedges & maxi dress

I recently received these platform wedges which I ordered from Nordstrom and I wanted to tell you about it because I’m really loving them. Last year, after admiring Sincerely Jules legs wearing these gorgeous wedges, (and secretly hoping I would get the same legs by wearing them), I bought them. Needless to say, that didn’t happen but the shoes looked great and I loved them. The Queen Mother likes saying that I walk like an elephant, I like to think that I have a very decisive step. I basically march on… As such, I will kill any pretty, thin heels in a day, even in a matter of hours so the experience has taught me to go either for flat shoes, sneakers or heels that can stand my power walk. I thought wedges would be a great alternative but it turned out that this specific model wasn’t great for me. I twisted my ankle a few times and the upper strap came out in no time. I took them for repair twice and after the second time, I …

The wooden house of a Fashion Designer

A Fashion Designer’s wooden house

I’m particularly keen to share this beautiful wooden house with you because I think you will love both the plywood interior and the clothes by French Fashion Designer Aurélie Lecuyer. Aurélie’s home also gathers three things that we all love a lot here: Interiors, Architecture and Fashion. Her beautiful wooden house was conceived by Architect Thomas Walter from Atelier Ordinaire who specialised in wooden houses with plywood interior walls. What exudes from this inspiring plywood interior is a timeless simplicity. Like this garage converted into a Summer house, plywood walls have been left raw to maintain the feeling of a “cabane” (i.e. hut). While decorative items like this Lappalainen brass mobile have been kept to a minimum. I got mine from Tea and Kate, an independent shop I highly recommend. They have a very beautiful and well-curated collection of goods for your home (and we owe to support and purchase from small businesses if we want them to survive). Picture by MILK magazine In the lounge, a brown Ligne Roset sofa, beige curtains and a vintage school chair complement the light …

10 timeless pieces to rock style like French women (from the Arket sale)

10 timeless pieces to rock style like French women (from the Arket sale)

In less than a year, the NEW brand on the block ARKET has established itself as the go-to brands for timeless, simple and beautifully made fashion staples and their collection keeps getting better.   The latest brand launched by the Swedish giant H&M, joins the ranks of other brands we love: Monki for quirky, fun fashion, COS for minimal pieces and & Others Stories – a brand whose branding I adore but I have to admit, I often struggle to find things that would work for me (how about you!?) However, finding things in ARKET is defo not an issue! Oh no!! In fact, as the ARKET SALE IS ON, I’ve selected 10 staple pieces that grace the wardrobes of us French women because I think you will love them. #1: The black fitted shirt When I saw this beautiful black shirt, I immediately thought of Emmanuelle Alt (Editor of the French VOGUE). I’m sure you’ve seen a few pictures of Emmanuelle Alt on Pinterest. If you haven’t, you can follow the new Pinterest board I dedicated to her style here. BUY IT NOW …

#Weeklyfashionedit | Cream coat & cashmere jumper

#weekly fashion edit

After fighting a sore throat and the beginning of the flu, I’m finally on the mend and off to Hossegor for a few days to see Mila who is taking part in the bodyboard French championships. Quite a big thing since she has only recently starting bodyboarding. A part of me is super proud and the other part is a bit freaked out. Last time she took part in a competition (her first), she came 4th which was fantastic but the waves were 1.5m high and the ocean was pretty agitated and this week looks like it’s gonna be the same if not worse so will see. Anyway…I had started my board with this navy coat which is very similar to the one I’m wearing here but then, I came across this beautiful cream coat (2). Cream coats always look very chic and this one is perfect to wear over a pair of frayed jeans or wool trousers if you want to go for the cream on the cream look. Given the weather and our needs for warmth, …

Freddie Harrel by Karine Kong Photography

Style crush: denim & gold

Last week, Habitat kindly invited me to attend an event at the Hoxton hotel, where three lovely women I follow on Instagram: Alex, Erica and Freddie talked about their career, getting that work/balance right and making the leap to be full-time Bloggers. As I have longed to do a portrait session with Freddie & Alex since last year when I decided to focus on my portrait photography and more precisely women portraits, I didn’t think twice and flew to London. Being fashion Bloggers, the three of them work mostly from home (although Alex just started renting out space while her flat is being renovated). You can see Erica’s family home in North Essex, Alex’s lovely flat and Freddie’s colourful flat on the Habitat website. It was an insightful evening and Freddie mentioned a couple of apps that you may want to try to improve your productivity. The first one was Spark by Readdle which I’ve heard before but generally speaking, I think I need to be told things three times to do something about it… Sparks enables you to sort out your inbox quickly in …
