black kitchen with Philippe Starck Masters chairs

Black dining chairs…

For our dining room, I’m looking at two chairs for now….The Knot chair (tried, tested & loved) which has been one of my top favourite chairs for a long time. I took the black one home recently to see how it would look in our new lounge and it looks fab. Second option is the Masters chair designed by Philippe Starck for Kartell. Starck designed the Masters chair to pay tribute to three iconic chairs: the “Series 7” by Arne Jacobsen, the “Tulip Armchair” by Eero Saarinen and the “Eiffel Chair” by Charles Eames. It’s very comfy and has a special finish on the chair, which makes it feel sensual and velvety to the touch but mostly I love the look of it. What do you think? SHOP THE LOOK Photography: 1. New Year resolutions in July…ben quoi!?

This morning, I woke up again at 4am (if you want to know why, here is your answer) with lots of energy and the desire to ditch everything* and start again to reconnect with my inner creative self (no I never rest, I will sleep when I’m dead!)* Resolution no 1: Actually do something with these Photoshop tutorials I keep saving on Pinterest* Resolution no 2: Take real photos again rather than being lazy using my iPhone (how many of us fell into this trap?!).My iPhone is leaving today to travel with my kiwi friend to be fixed in Hong Kong at a reasonable price since I refused point blank to be fleeced by Apple again. This means that I’ll be off Instagram for a while and not glued to my phone which has became, let’s face it, an extension of my arm. I could find a replacement phone while mine is getting some TLC but I have decided to go without it for a few weeks as an experiment (which I may regret dearly….). Day 1 and I’m having palpitations…* Resolution no …

Men with a beard

Do you like men with a beard?I have to admit, I didn’t and it was more because of the rash I was getting from kissing a bearded man than from an aesthetic point of view. However, these past few years, Steve (pictured here with our linen scarf & Jules plumber bag) has been growing a bear each time we were on holidays so I grew to love it.While his hairy face may make up for the lack of hair on his skull, my kiwi is ageing beautifully like a good French wine and he is looking sexier by the minute and what was a look reserved solely to our holidays, has now become his new style. He recently started a new job with a Danish company and has adopted the Viking look from day one and honestly, each time he comes home looking tanned (from our last family weekend in Wales) and dashing in one of his Italian suits, I can’t help thinking how gorgeous he looks.A few bearded links for you….Alain Delon in La Piscine22 reasons bearded men are …

3 inspiring bedrooms styled in blue | Get the look

This morning, Francois & I are shooting the last photos required to complete the bedroom spread of the BODIE and FOU SS/2013 catalogue. As we will be styling our new blue stonewashed duvet cover, I thought, today was perfect to share with you these beautiful & inspiring bedrooms and luxury beds styled with blue.  Blue is definitively my second favourite colour after white. I don’t know if it’s a childhood spent on the Atlantic coast but for me, nothing better than blue screams HOLIDAYS.  What colour screams HOLIDAYS to you?? I hope you’ll forgive me for including one of my styling jobs (pic 2) in our home in France but I love this image because Mila was only 5 on the photo and if you had seen what the room was like when we got the house, you would be very proud of me :-) {Get the look from my holiday home} – Mirror on the wall, wall lights and ceiling light are vintage pieces found in second-hand shops but you can find similar items on E-bay – the blue …

Favourite B&F styling jobs | The Ceramic Owl vase

I have styled this lovely ceramic Owl vase for our collection many times and more often as a pot to hold pencils and brushes than flowers but that’s how I use mine. I think it looks a lot more interesting and fun than a classic pen holder on my desk, don’t you think?
