Don’t you think social media made you more creative?

While building my Pinterest folder searching for inspiring ideas for my home and our first mail order catalogue, I came across these beautiful images taken by Lars Botten.
It may take a few years before I take nice shots like this but I realized this afternoon that I’m looking at photography, fashion and creative inspiration in a complete different way than I used to, let’s say before starting blogging.
Nowadays, I will look at the light of a photo or the stylism, I will try to imagine how I could replicate a similar atmosphere or setting in my own photos.
I think that even if some still think that social media a fad – although I think its more down to the fact that something better comes along on the market like Pinterest and we just move on with the next best thing because it’s quicker and easier to use – blogging, facebook, Tumblr and now Pinterest have made us all a lot more creative and have made us better at writing, sewing, styling or taking photography, whatever it is we enjoy doing.
Which is why I’m posting these beautiful shots by Lars Botten and I hope that, somehow, like me, you will find some inspiration to draw from these portraits.
On a different subject, my pallet coffee table is now finished (see totally out of focus image here) and it leaves me incredibly happy and proud of my little DIY achievements. I will try to take nicer pictures tomorrow. In the meantime, have a wonderful evening. Bises

  2. I completely agree. I stumbled across the world of blogs perhaps a year ago. Started off getting one or two subscriber emails (and now totally addicted of course). Since then I have taken up cross-stitch (which I used to do when I was a child), am trying to teach myself to paint, improve my photography and love baking. There is just not enough time in the day. Plus I started my own blog which is definitely a form of creativity too.

  3. Love these pics and totally agree – blogging and reading blogs has made me much more creative. They are the first place I turn for inspiration…

  4. Tu as tellement raison…

  5. @Happy Life

  6. I do not know if lying awake at night to re-think all the great things I saw is a form of creativity ;)

Since blogging and getting allll that information I even noticed I got a trained eye for certain lines in pictures.. I thought I had lost it a bit since leaving the academy and through blogging I rediscovered my love for styling and presenting ;)
    Aren’t we a happy creative bunch ;)
