We came back from New-Zealand yesterday afternoon, I’m jet-lagged, tired and a bit spaced out but we had such a great time that I don’t really mind…My little Freewi (franco-kiwi) grew by 2 cm in 3 weeks, learnt to ride her bike without the stabilisers, fed her Pa’s cows, made some chocolate muffins with her Nana, went body-boarding, fishing, buggee-jumping, swimming, horse-riding and had the time of her life with her cousins.
I also had a lot of time for myself… time to read (incl. a very interesting book on positive thinking!), time to think, to visualise my life, my passions and how Steve and I want to take our little family going forward. And I’m feeling like a little Buddha…although Buddha is still very busy at work catching up on far too many emails so I just wanted to wish you a fantastic New Year, full of happiness, joy and health with all the people you love, be they family or friends.
PS:
I just love this old photo of Steve with Lynda and Carolyn, his sisters taken in Waihi Beach. I just think it embodies so well happy, carefree times at the beach …pure bliss…and they all look gorgeous!

Update: The book I read on positive thinking is called Stay Positive!: It’s All a Matter of Attitude by Elwood N. Chapman

Welcome back! It sounds like exactly the kind of holiday/ family time you just needed. Love the image – such carefree happy faces – kids are grown up all too fast now to have such innocent faces. Sigh!
It sounds like such a wonderful time was had – what a lovely way to bring in the New Year!
All the best for 2011!
Jem at Beautiful Clutter :-)

I can only say .. that is how children really should live their life! The picture says it all, worry less happy beach children…. but then for some (like us) that is just holidays ;)
I am sure your gitl will have happy memories from these vacations… My kids loved living with their grandmother over in Itily every summer when they were small and I am happy we could give them these memories of sandy beaches and lots of warm sunshine.
