Updating our bedroom & its beautiful dark grey wall was on my list of things to do.
As soon as I recovered from the low blood pressure that hit me and let me with very little energy for three weeks, I tackled all the things on my to-do list.
I wanted to give our bedroom a new, fresh look for Spring.
I finally unpacked the new stonewashed linen duvet cover in white I got during my last trip to London. You can’t beat white for a fresh look, can you!!?
I also added a gorgeous, new print above our bed.
To get this print made, I used Mapiful, a website that lets you choose any location in the world (even a small town) and get it printed on a nice poster.
It’s a fantastic concept. I can think of several friends and family members I could treat with one of those prints featuring a place that would mean something to them.
Bordeaux is the city where I went to University. I met some of my best friends there and have great memories of my years there.
In addition, the look and minimalist design of the print was just perfect for my grey wall.
How about you? Do you have a favourite city that you would love to have as a print?

I also added my favourite books to get inspiration for my portrait photography, some of my favourite skincare like Aesop and these new essential oils I have been using on my face for a couple of weeks to cut down on cosmetics and skincare routine.
The jojoba reminds me of the scented essential oil used to pour in our bath when we were younger. I’m not convinced by the smell of the other one but it does moisturise my skin.
I’m off to Berlin early tomorrow to be a Speaker at The Hive Blogging conference so I wish you a lovely weekend.

What a great room redesign. Very simple and fresh. Monochrome is always an effective and timeless colour choice/ theme for rooms – and works especially well in rooms where you want a relaxing and peaceful feel.
Thanks glad you like it
Lovely room! Would you please tell me that gray wall color? It’s gorgeous!
Hi Mina
It’s Down Pipe by Farrow & Ball. Thanks
Thank you so much!
Just lovely, feels very cosy!
Thanks very much and I confirm it is :-)
That’s a gorgeous makeover of your room Karine. I love how the new simple yet wonderful motif.
Thanks very much Elizabeth. I’m glad you like it
Looks modern and stylish, I love that black-white prints :-)
Absolutely lovely! The white and dark gray are so striking, but also have such a softness to them, which always seems to be a nice touch in a bedroom. The print you had made adds something unique and eye-catching without transforming the minimalist feel of the room. Gorgeous!
Thanks Mary. I’m glad you like it
What a gorgeous colour. For once dark looks bright!
Such a gorgeous colour scheme, I think people often feel intimidated by the stark contrast of black and white, it can sometimes feel a bit bleak so grey is a great, softer alternative – such a calming, sophisticated look. Good job!
Thanks Anna. Dark grey is actually one of my fav colours to work with and it was the perfect background for this print
So beautiful! I love the designs!
Love the color palette you picked! Great work!
Dark grey is one of my fav colours too! Our lounge is in F&B Downpipe. Love the black and white only style… not sure it would survive with my kids!

Amazing and informative post on room decoration. It is helpful to decor my bedroom.
Looking at creating the same effect for my bedroom, please could you tell me where you got your wall lights from
Hi Diane I can’t remember where I got them from because it was over 12 years ago but it’s a classic design. It’s the Tolomeo model by Artemide. Hope this helps Karine
