how to make your own linen spray. Here is a very simple & easy recipe. Check it out www.karinecandicekong.comSince we added these soft stonewashed linens to collection in the shop, I have, little by little, replaced all our cotton beddings by stonewashed linen, which admittedly is an investment but it also goes with my objective to have less clutter in our home.
So I have now less duvet covers that we used to, but the ones I have, are ones that I really love.

So here is a little creative project (really quick and easy), for you to make your own linen spray so that your bed linen, be it stonewashed linen or cotton, smells wonderful.

  • A spray bottle, 450 ml or 1L (16 or 32 oz)
  • 2 tbsp of 100 proof vodka (which you can get from Amazon)
  • 2 essential oils such as lavender, vanilla, jasmine, bergamot, rose etc…They are usually the fragrances I pick when buying scented candles but the choice is yours
  • and some distilled water

1/ First, mix the 2 tbsp. of vodka and the oils you’ve chosen in the bottle as follows:
– 1 teaspoon jasmine oil and 1/2 teaspoon bergamot oil
– 1 teaspoon lavender oil and 1/2 teaspoon sandalwood oil
– 1 teaspoon vanilla oil and 2 drops ginger oil

2/ Then add the distilled water, screw on the top and shake the bottle to disperse the oils evenly throughout

3/ Shake lightly before each use et voilà…See it was really easy and quick and if you find some pretty glass containers, you can also give them as gifts to your friends.

  1. Great idea and wonderful smell! Thanks for the tip. Nothing like beautiful linen. I love ironing linen and find it very satisfying! But also love the crinkle too!!

    • Me I love the smell although for stonewashed linen, I prefer when it looks creased and natural but on cotton duvet cover, I love it when they are nicely ironed and smell fresh :-)

  2. Fantastic, I will have to try that myself! I’m not really one for DIY, but looks like I won’t set anything on fire by accident; )

  3. Thanks this is amazing! Was just looking the other day to buy a nice new linen spray :) How long would this last? Do you have to make a new batch every time you use it or can it sit in a cupboard for a while?

    • You’re very welcome! It should last you quite a while as long as your container is air tight. Obviously, as it has alcohol, you will lose some if your bottle is not air-tight. Let me know how you get on :-)
