For those who don’t follow me on Instagram, I’m in Paris this weekend (see hashtag #bodieandfoutravelsparis). Yesterday, I went to meet my photography hero: Peter Lindbergh who kindly signed his new book for me (see Instagram stories), and afterwards I went to a party organised by Milk magazine at La Trésorerie (very nice shop in the 10th arrondissement).
Net-a-Porter is seriously a dangerous place to be at the moment. Each time I look at their sale, I spot something really nice like this pair of Chloé leather sandals Lucy from Fashion Me Now has been raving about. The thing for me is first, I hate clutter in the house. So I’m not going to get X amounts of paires of shoes just because they are in the sale. Secondly, I think now I have found the style that works for my figure and age, I want to get something that is really ME and I will wear as much as I wear my Isabel Marant pieces. Granted it took me a few months to get a pair of Stan Smith (they are 20% OFF on Zalando) but it turned out to be a good purchase (for me!) as I wear them weekly. This is my favourite look at the moment. It’s easy going, versatile and you can change/update the whole outfit by changing your clutch, replace the top by a basic v-neck t-shirt in charcoal, light grey or white and wear a parka or this nice grey coat. 1/This leather jacket which is made of soft panelled lambs leather (a must-have!) 2/ These boyfriend jeans by Current Elliot. 1/ The AA Butterfly chair is one of my favourite pieces of design after the Paulistano chair. It has such an iconic design legacy and still looks amazingly modern considering it was designed in 1938. 2/Following my post on the Hush beachwear collection, I ordered the Kaftan dress in black to take to France with me next week. I already have this lovely glitter clutch and this military jacket. 3/During summer time, I’m usually more of a Birkenstock kind of girls, but for the sake of showing you different alternatives, I think these leather slides from ATP Atelier are really gorgeous (a pair of K Jacques St Tropez would be great too!). 4/Love this new black rattan clutch from Clare Vivier and of course, if you didn’t buy the La Tropezienne tote bag when we had it in the BODIE and FOU Collection, you should really order one from her site. 5/and I love this Dr Jackson’s 04 coconut melt which I bought a couple of weeks ago. Last year I bought 5 jumpsuits and most of them have been great investment, meaning I wore them weekly each Season (except maybe a black one from Mango which I’ll put on Ebay when I’m back in London). For me, a great investment is based on the cost per wear ratio. Meaning, the cost of the item Vs the number of times I will wear the item. This is how I justify to spend $$$$ on a pair of Dicker ankle boots by Isabel Marant, (which to be honest I wear day in day out during the Summer and have for the past 3 Summers)…and it’s why it’s also good to mix great designer pieces like this Winter coat by Marant, which you are likely to wear a few Winters and things from the high-street or more affordable online brands like Hush, ASOS, Boden or French Connection.
On Tuesday, I went to a very cute little shop where my sister Elodie had seen some gorgeous Liberty blouses… Stylish Italian customer: “Oh! I’ve got the same handbag than you!” Moi: “Ah oui..it’s funny! Where did you get yours?” Stylish Italian customer: “In New-York!” Moi: “I’m asking because I sell them in my shop in London…” Stylish Italian customer: “Oh…what’s the name of your shop?” Moi: “BODIE and FOU” Stylish Italian customer: “Oh but I know it!! I love BODIE and FOU and the Blog” Moi: “Oh..really?! Thanks (me blushing) Well I’m Karine…I’m one of the Founders with my sister who lives nearby” Stylish Italian customer: “Oh I’m so happy to meet you…I love your shop and your blog! I actually saw the bag on your site and then send the link to my husband when he was in NY” Moi: “How funny!!….and amazing” Stylish Italian customer: “..I’m very very happy to have met you!” Moi: “Me too! :-)” Needless to say that I left the shop with a beaming smile! I mean how unbelievable …
