The wooden house of a Fashion Designer

A Fashion Designer’s wooden house

I’m particularly keen to share this beautiful wooden house with you because I think you will love both the plywood interior and the clothes by French Fashion Designer Aurélie Lecuyer. Aurélie’s home also gathers three things that we all love a lot here: Interiors, Architecture and Fashion. Her beautiful wooden house was conceived by Architect Thomas Walter from Atelier Ordinaire who specialised in wooden houses with plywood interior walls. What exudes from this inspiring plywood interior is a timeless simplicity. Like this garage converted into a Summer house, plywood walls have been left raw to maintain the feeling of a “cabane” (i.e. hut). While decorative items like this Lappalainen brass mobile have been kept to a minimum. I got mine from Tea and Kate, an independent shop I highly recommend. They have a very beautiful and well-curated collection of goods for your home (and we owe to support and purchase from small businesses if we want them to survive). A beautiful family home in Biarritz, France

A feel-good, family home in Biarritz, France

I’m slowly getting over the jet lag from my recent trip to San-Francisco and start feeling like a functioning human being again so today, let me show you this beautiful French family home in Biarritz which is a dream! Renovated by Constance and Dorian, this home of 150m2 is a dream space, filled with natural light and vintage treasures happily blending with designer pieces like the comfy Togo sofa by Ligne Roset which, by the way, celebrated its 40th year anniversary two years ago. There are so many lovely details I love in this home…the pastel colours, the door painted in black paint (an old decorating trick I know but it still looks good!), the strip of tiles on the kitchen floor and the fab wall-mounted dishwasher rack by Tsé-Tsé (now discontinued).I’ve always had a soft spot for interiors with a holiday vibe and this lovely home definitively ticks a few boxes. In my own home, I aim to create this effortless atmosphere vibes by using natural fabrics, textures, shades of white or injecting summery colours like the front door …

Bedroom with concrete floor

Bedroom with concrete floor

I’m loving this bedroom with a concrete floor. Be it in a bedroom, bathroom or kitchen (here too), concrete flooring is one of my favourite floorings. Each time I come across this bedroom picture on Pinterest, which was taken in the apartment of Designer Barbara Hill, I can’t help thinking how peaceful it feels and I imagine myself living in it. Maybe in a place like New-York overlooking the Hudson River… How about you? Where do you see yourself living in this bedroom? The bed is the Ligne Roset’s Peter Maly bed. Talking of which, if you’re looking for a vintage Togo sofa by Ligne Roset similar to the one featured in this fab, feel-good family home in Biarritz, check out Pamono in the UK. They have plenty of Togo sofas and armchairs in their collection. Photography by Dean Kaufman
