Thank you so much for answering my little survey last night in my Instagram stories. Since 98% of you wanted to see more house tours, I thought I would kick in with this home in Islington (nice area in north London to visit if you’re planning a little trip). Featuring a minimalist plywood kitchen, it’s a home I find really inspiring for several reasons. First, it’s filled with natural light which in a city like London, is always a good thing. We added a lot of large windows when we renovated our home in London and I can’t stress enough the positive impact it had on our well-being and the overall vibe of our home. So if you’re planning a renovation, think about large windows (I’ve compiled some great examples of windows here). It has also a polished concrete floor, which is what I’m hoping to have in the next home we renovate. There are a few things that fill me with joy when it comes to hanging out at home. One is being surrounded by visually pleasing objects and two, is listening to music and this new minimalist speaker combines both. The new, multi-room speakers Stammen (small) and Baggen (large) from Urbanears are a far cry from the usual, bulky speakers with eyesore cable and if you both love music and design, you are going to love them! Plus they come in 6 colours! The Baggen speaker in concrete grey matches perfectly our grey wall in the lounge and I’m thinking of getting Mila, this pink Stammen to match the hues from her recent bedroom makeover in pink. Now that we’ve sold our first holiday home (available on airbnb here) in the Bay of Arcachon to my best friend, we are starting to plan some renovation work to modernise the holiday home we spent most time in France. One thing we are looking at revamping is our Ikea kitchen which I have to admit has not aged. Ten years on and the units are still looking very white and have not faded despite the huge amount of natural light filling the room. However, what has changed is our cooking habits (well mine mostly…) and requirements for space and storage. For starters, I cook now…which is something I wasn’t doing at all when I designed the kitchen over a decade ago and over the recent years, I came to realise that there was actually enough space to prepare the food when the two of us are in the kitchen. Room update: Our new dining chairs

I have been looking for new dining chairs for our home to replace the very eclectic mix we had around our dining table for some time, since the house renovations. We had a couple of vintage office Eames, a vintage Harry Bertoia chair bought on eBay, a new stainless-steel Bertoia from the Knoll sample sale, a couple of cardboard stools from Story Deli and some very bright green garden chairs from Ikea, which added a cheerful pop of colour but wasn’t exactly what I had in mind for this room which has now, very soothing hues of pale grey and white. And then I saw the new Moda chair launched by Cult Furniture.The Moda dining chair combines Scandinavian modern simplicity with function and the price was also really attractive considering I had to order 8 chairs. The Moda chair comes with three different leg styles to choose from (+ an armchair version) but my favourite was the wooden legs version to echo the wood of our large dining table. I’m heading back to London on Sunday for a styling job which I’m really excited about. Ideal Home magazine is also coming to photograph our kitchen and as my company BODIE and FOU is exhibiting our prints collection at Design Junction from 24th to 27th, I will be attending our stand there too (I hope to meet some of you there!) I was struggling to leave this place when the weather was nice but now that it’s pouring down rain, it’s getting a lot easier. Here is a random bunch of photos of our home I took with my iPhone a few months ago (I have so many photos to go through, it’s insane!) but I’m looking forward to spending some time in this gorgeous space. I have missed that room. I’m so in love with the resin floor we added throughout the ground floor – still need to source some chairs though….I can’t wait to hang out in our beautiful tadelakt bathroom, potter around the kitchen, and finish decorating our bedroom too.
