Indigo Shibori styling

Indigo Shibori Masterclass

Do you want to attend an indigo shibori masterclass!? Of course you do!! When I return from our family holidays in Hossegor, I will then head off to the south of France in Pernes les Fontaines & Montpellier to attend an Indigo Shibori masterclass ran by Irish Designer Kathryn Davey at La Maison Pernoise. Indigo is my second favourite hue right behind white to bring Summer into a home and adds a holiday vibe to a place. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen that our holiday home in France has plenty of small, blue touches from the shutters to the kitchen cupboard I revamped (see here and here) and indigo bed linens  as gorgeous as these, definitively exude Summer! Kathryn will run two workshops, one in Pernes Les Fontaines on 23rd August and one in Montpellier on 25th. There are a few spaces left in both so if you are interested in attending one of them, please contact La Maison Pernoise directly. If you are interested in booking a portrait session with me while I’m in the …

West Elm Blogger Styling Challenge

Last Saturday, Carole from Mademoiselle Poirot  and I, took part in a fun Blogger Styling Challenge in West Elm. The styling with the most likes will win the challenge so I would be HU-GE-LY grateful if you could head to West Elm’s Instagram account and vote for us here.  You only need to like the image to cast your vote by Sunday this week. The event was to celebrate the Beta launch of At{mine}, an interiors community site still in development but you can sign in here and It was hosted by Igor and Judith, Founders of Urban Jungle Bloggers, who inspired me to start this Urban Jungle board on Pinterest. Styling is one of the favourite parts of my job but styling when you can use anything in the West Elm shop to style our corner, was like being a kid in a candy shop and they have gorgeous things! The sofa we used for our styling is the James Harrison settee (£899) and the yellow throw is the Nomad bedspread. It’s currently in the sale and I’m hoping they will have a few left by the …

10 things you need to create an inspiring workspace

Creating inspiring workspaces is one of my favourite things… I simply can’t function properly in a working space that doesn’t inspire me, it’s just simple as that! We are very lucky now that our offices are actually based in a beautiful, industrial space where I could easily move in and turn it into a loft (if that was ever an option) but it wasn’t always the case. The first years of running the business, we had some pretty shitty workspaces with no heat etc. and the only way I found myself coping with my surrounding environments was to create a little, inspiring corner to focus on. So here are a few of my tips which you could put into practice this weekend or next week. 1/ Find yourself a wall And use it as your blank canvas to create a moodboard, a backdrop that will inspire you. Facing a wall may be seen as not very social (but who cares!?), it’s about creating your own little corner of inspiration so when you turn around to …

The BODIE and FOU SS/2013 catalogue has landed!

I’m proud to say that our latest catalogue has landed on our UK customers’ doorsteps today!  If you haven’t received a copy you can request one here before we run out. This means that I can finally show you the inspiring workspace I styled in our new offices and which is one of my favourite ones.  Doesn’t this KNOT chair look amazing!? The white table is also new and can double-up as a desk or dining table and I love these Bamboo lamps and this natural basket which is fast-becoming our best-seller! Well I love everything about our new collection… I’m beaming with proud and I wish I could jump with joy but after a week fighting the flu and then a viral stomach bug, I can hardly stand up which is hugely frustrating but I really hope you will enjoy it.  Please let me know….It’s always very rewarding to get your feedback xoxo http://feeds.feedburner.com/blogspot/UxVs

Cosy, rustic bedroom | Get the Look

Today, I’m on a styling job for a Interiors magazine from New-Zealand with Francois behind the camera. I’m pretty sure I’ll take a few photos myself on Instagram but in the meantime I just wanted to share with you these shots I styled a few weeks ago in my house in France with the New-York wall light

Styling from Amsterdam Part 2

This is a picture I styled and shot last June in Amsterdam when I stayed with my good friend Desiree from Vosges Paris. We attended Meet The Blogger on Saturday but I spent Friday and Sunday shooting a few images for the BODIE and FOU AW/12 catalogue (you can request a copy here). I love her home very much so it was a real pleasure to imagine a workspace a la BODIE and FOU with some of my favourite things like the Feathers print, and our clip on light which is now back in stock.
