Now that we are well into mid-January and that we are back to work, school runs, food shopping etc, rather than chilling on the sofa stuffing our face with chocolate, how do we make this year a productive and positive one? If you are a check-list person like me, I find that the best way, is to consign all the things you want and need to do in a personal planner following the SMART goal framework: SPECIFIC MEASURABLE ACHIEVABLE RELEVANT TIME BOUND For instance, as one of my major goals this year is to make 2018 sugar free (and I’m talking refined sugars only!), I can easily focus on doing one week at a time and tick each day on the page of my personal planner as a mini success and then cross the whole week as a weekly success. This is it…1st day of 2016! I’m so excited! I’ve always loved the beginning of a New Year. While some people may think it doesn’t change anything, for me it changes a lot of things. It’s a new beginning, the chance to re-invent myself, to look at things that happened in my life, that made me grow and make some adjustments, work out what worked for me last year and made me happy and what didn’t. Do you feel that way too? There is a lot of things I want to achieve this year business wise but I haven’t put them down in writing yet. I’m in the final stage of turning the page on a 10 years adventure with the shop and I’m pleased to say that I’m doing it in the best possible way because someone who has a similar aesthetics to mine is taking over and I know the shop will be in good hands… However, from a personal level, they are four things I really want to achieve this year…

I have seen so many positive changes to my well-being since this post that I think it’s time to put them in writing and maybe this will motivate you to do the same (if that’s what you long to do) because frankly, I think it’s worth it and every woman deserves to feel good. So yes there is no secret, it all comes down to knowing yourself and looking after yourself… Eating a well-balanced diet, staying away from junk food & refined sugars, exercising regularly, laughing a lot, having a positive, support group of people around you etc… I’ve given up smoking, I don’t drink a lot because, over the years, I have found that I feel much better if I have just one glass of wine rather than 3 and little by little, I’m making changes to my diet.
