Have you planned your table settings for Christmas yet? If you haven’t, maybe you are in for some inspiration. This year, my table setting is in soft grey, white, black with a touch of green and I’ve used the beautiful Spode Pure Morris tableware which can be mixed and matched. William Morris designs are timeless. His work can be admired at the William Morris gallery in East London and earlier this year, H&M released a beautiful collection bearing his prints (there are some pieces left here). My aim was to bring together William Morris’ classic designs and a modern, table setting to create an inviting and beautiful Christmas dinner table. Tableware To create a stylish table, I first used the large 11-inch plates with the Strawberry Thief design as the base, then add the pasta bowls and these cereal bowls that I will be using for serving soup. The few weeks leading to Christmas are the perfect time to build special memories for our children (if you have any) and family members. The kind of memories they will cherish for years to come and maybe pass on. In the past few years, I have tried to be more organised to make sure that Christmas is indeed a special and not a stressful time… {Planning the look of your Christmas table ahead} This year, I wanted to create a very soothing look and introduce textures, warmth and simplicity around a natural palette of off-white, brown and greys. I paired a vintage textured cotton tablecloth with some beautiful linen napkins and these simple but gorgeous Artisan plates from The White Company. I’ve never really decorated a table for Easter before but then I saw these eggs in a vase on Pinterest and it inspired me to make my own ‘pastel’ version with left-over paint I had and use my beautiful tableware designed by Sophie Conran for Portmeirion. It was really easy to do and turned out to be very pretty too so I’m really pleased with the whole look of our Easter table.
