Un texte de William Saroyan

Try to learn to breathe deeply

These beautiful words by William Saroyan have been wrongly attributed to Ernest Hemingway on Pinterest.   Saroyan published them in one of his books called “The Daring Young Man on the Flying Trapeze”. William Saroyan was among the most reputed American writers of the early 20th century. He would tell stories about the challenges and delights of rural America through the lens of life in the Central Valley of California. He won a Pulitzer Prize, an Oscar and the New York Drama Critics’ Circle Award. “He is one of the most underrated writers of the century. He takes his place naturally alongside Hemingway, Steinbeck and Faulkner.” – Stephen Fry American Authors were my dad’s favourites. That’s all he read and he was reading a lot. He used to have a mood board in his bedroom with pictures of all his favourite American Authors. He was also fascinated by native Indians :-) What are your favourite American Authors? A few years back when I still had the time to read, I devoured anything written by James Ellroy.

Be so good that people can't ignore you

Be undeniably good

I have been spending a lot of time with my camera these past few months. With progress comes compliments, inspiration, hopes and new dreams… It has been 8 months since I sold the e-shop. During these 8 months, I took the time to get my life back, to focus on doing things I love rather than things I had to do because I was running a business. I took time to re-kinkle with an old passion of mine and to start a new one like surfing. From surfing & photography, came a new creative project: People from the Sea and for the first time in 8 months, I feel inspired to look at a new entrepreneurial project. On my search to how to make it a success in “my next life”, I came across this quote from Steve Martin which was so simple and obvious that it hit me like a ton of bricks. Yes you need hard work, passion and the right attitude to make it happen but most of it, you need to become the best at what you do and focus …

10 inspiring quotes by Simone de Beauvoir

10 inspiring quotes by Simone de Beauvoir about freedom of choice, love, compassion and being a woman… “One’s life has value so long as one attributes value to the life of others, by means of love, friendship, and compassion” “People seem to think that if you keep your head empty you automatically fill your balls.” The Mandarins “We will not let ourselves be intimidated by the number and violence of attacks against women; nor be fooled by the self-serving praise showered on the “real woman”; nor be won over by men’s enthusiasm for her destiny, a destiny they would not for the world want to share.” The Second Sex “I tried to love you less. I couldn’t.” The Mandarins “Being on the fringes of the world is not the best place for someone who intends to re-create it: here again, to go beyond the given, one must be deeply rooted in it. {WISE WORDS} BALANCE

I’m so balanced these days you can call me Buddha… OK so yes, I’m entering my 4th week of not working out and not eating such a balanced diet and I’m ok with it. I’m OK with it because…

{WISE WORDS} FRIENDSHIP

Little piece of wisdom I’m trying to pass on to Mila…What best piece of advice have you been giving to your children? Nowadays kids are a lot more connected than we were at their age. As a Blogger, it would be difficult for me to prevent her from using social media but I’m trying to teach her to keep her feet on the ground and to connect with her own tribe so to speak….real friends, friends she shares an interest, people she can rely on. Funnily enough, when it comes to Mila owing a phone for instance, I’m super traditional. She hasn’t got one yet and I will postpone it as much as I can (I’m aiming for her 16 years old birthday) :-) How about you? How are you feeling about all of this? GET SOME PRINTS
