THE EDIT (previously named #weeklyfashionedit) is to inspire you to put together a minimalist wardrobe with fashion staples.
I have recently stored my Spring/Summer clothes into a few of these stackable storage boxes.
I’m ready now to re-organise my wardrobe with things to wear in Autumn/Winter.
Emptying your drawers at the start of each season will help you to see the things you want to keep or get rid of. It’s like a blank canvas. Suddenly, you’re facing an empty wardrobe and it’s much easier to put back things you really want.
“70% staple pieces, 30% on-trend pieces is the ratio I’m aiming for, in my wardrobe this year”
Always aiming to be as minimalist as I can, I’m aiming to have fashion staples with a few on-trend items to complete the look.
I want pieces that will last me for a few years. Clothes that truly reflect my style and will work for a few seasons.
Based on its cost per wear, these Beckett sneakers by Isabel Marant for instance, have proven to be a great investment. So they are staying.
I also have these Dicker ankle boots whose heel height is so perfect that they actually make my calves looking slimmer. They are staying too.
So this week, I went for a 70%/30% ration with this all-black look…
My on-trend piece is this fab, new Superstar tee-shirt (1) which is bound to become a staple piece, paired with a black blazer.
I picked this black blazer (2) from Mango* because I’m a huge fan of the whole blazer + trousers (3) look and you can modernise it with a pair of Stan Smith, eco-friendly Veja or the Golden Goose Deluxe Brand sneakers.
However, cheap fabrics tend to shine after a while which is not a great look so I suggest you go for the most expensive black blazer you can afford like maybe this double-breasted wool blazer from Frame or this Stella McCartney wool blazer (my fav!)
There are a few over the shoulder bags this season that will make
great investment pieces.
I’ve already mentioned the Fifi bag (only £99) from Hush …
This week, let me bring your attention to this Albane leather shoulder bag (4) from A.P.C. (total love!).
I will finish the look with this nice pair of brown ankle boots from Mansur Gavriel.
