#Weeklyfashionedit | A gorgeous fitted dress inspired by the movie The Dressmaker

I’ve recently watched The Dressmaker on Netflix which was one of the best movies I had seen in a long time.

Have you seen it !?

Beside Kate Winslet’s acting which is always fantastic (I think!) and the few tears I shed, I was mesmerised by all the beautiful dresses in the movie, designed by Award-winning costume designer Margot Wilson.

The fifties are not my favourite area (I’m more of a feel-good 70’s disco & 80’s pop kind of girl ;-) but I have to say when Winslet’s character Tilly stepped out at a local rugby match wearing a black dress similar to the iconic dress Rita Hayworth wore in Gilda, I was like “wow”.

The dresses went on to get better and better. As the heroine studied with the best of the best fashion Designers in Europe, her clothes in the movie reflect the influences of mentors like Balenciaga and Dior, which is really pleasing to the eyes.

Added to the great acting of the whole cast: Winslet, Liam Hemsworth, Hugo Weaving, Judy Davis, and up-and-comer Sarah Snook, The Dressmaker was just a brilliant movie on so many levels which I highly recommend.

So this week, I was really inspired to find some great fitted dresses and L.K Bennett never disappoint in that department.

They have a fantastic collection of stylish, fitted dresses but also timeless coats like the Fellini black coat (1) or this Welma camel wool coat.

I love how special and feminine this Elouise black lace dress (2) looks for a night out or a special event. It would also look nice during summertime with a pair of wedges sandals like these sandals by See by Chloé or these.

L. K. Bennett has also some beautiful heels and some really sexy ankle boots.

These Florita black slingbacks for instance are a steal at 50% OFF but if money was no object, I would definitively go for these leopard stilettos from Gianvitto Rosi which look really nice or wait until Mango add some to their Winter collection like they always do.

I would finish the look with this gorgeous shade of red lipstick from Nars and this classic black clutch from Smythson.

So what do you think of this look!?
